Chapter Sixteen New Nightmares

August 28th X798

(Natsu Dragneel Scarlet) I woke up in a cold sweat and I started to pant heavily that nightmare seemed so very real and it absolutely terrified me, Once I had calmed down a little bit I slid out from underneath mama's arms before I slipped out of bed, I made my way into the bathroom where I closed the door behind me before I slid down the door to the bathroom floor.

I sat on the floor shaking violently from the constant replaying of the nightmare in my head, in my nightmare Acnologia's twin children attacked the guildhall and they both used their combined magic to freeze in place before they both proceeded to butcher everyone in the guild I loved Mama and Mommy were the last to fall and all I could do was watch them die, I felt the tears begin to pour down my face and I couldn't stop them from falling.

My sobs must have been very loud because I heard the sound of footsteps coming down the hallway and once the footsteps came to a stop outside of the bathroom door before the person proceeded to knock on the door, Kiddo it's mommy can you please open the door for me? Please go away mommy I said in a whisper! I can't leave you alone when you're in emotional distress kiddo so I'm coming inside mommy said, Mommy Cana unlocked the door with the spare key and she then walked inside the room.

I moved to the center of the room and I sat down in the middle of the bathroom, Mommy walked over to me before she knelt down in front of me before she took me into her arms, I cried into her chest and all the while she gently rubbed my back to help me calm down, Shh shh honey take a few deep breaths for me!

I started to take a couple of deep breaths to calm myself down, Once I was a little bit more calm and relaxed Mommy asked me what has upset you so much that you are shaking hon? I then told her about my nightmare and all the while she listened intently to everything I was saying, Natsu please look at me she requested.

I hesitantly looked up at mommy and I gazed into her large brown eyes and she said I know that you're scared of what the future could possibly hold but I can assure you that your mama and I won't allow this possible scenario to happen even if we both may have to die to prevent it from, Mommy then continued by saying Natsu you're one of the strongest persons I have ever known.

I whispered can I sleep with you tonight Mommy? You don't ever have to ask honey you're always to welcome to come to my room and sleep with me if you ever want to! Mommy then scooped me up into her arms and she carried me to her room, As mommy carried me to her bedroom I saw Mama standing in the doorway of our room with a soft smile on her face.

Mommy said your grandpa Gildarts will be stopping into town next week and I want to properly introduce you to him as his grandchild! Once we had arrived at her bedroom Mommy walked over to her bed before she tucked me under the covers before she climbed into the bed behind me and she pulled me into her embrace, I managed to fall asleep and sleep peacefully for the first night in the past two nights.
