Chapter Eighteen Day at the Guild

August 30th

(Mira Strauss) I stood by the request board and added new job requests that several of the locals of the neighboring towns and villages have requested our help with dealing with an assortment of jobs, I had just finished putting up the last request poster on the request board when I felt someone tugging on my skirt and I looked down and I saw Natsu, Hey kiddo how're you doing?

I'm doing okay Aunt Mira I'm just very tired because I haven't been sleeping well at night the last couple of days! How come honey? Natsu froze when I asked him why he hadn't been sleeping well at night, I decided that I wasn't going to push him on the issue, I was about to ask Natsu on how his day has been when Master Mavis walked over to us and she knelt down next to Natsu and she whispered into his ear.

Once she was done speaking to Natsu she took his hand and she led him to her office for a private discussion about something and since it didn't involve me I headed back downstairs to the first floor of the guild and once I had descended the stairs I saw that the guild members were calmed and relaxed, Cana was sitting at the bar drinking a glass of wine I'm very impressed that she is taking the responsibility of being a mother very well, in fact she hasn't drank any alcohol for the past few weeks.

In fact this is her first drink in several weeks every person is allowed to drink a glass of alcohol every once in a while, I walked behind the bar counter before I made my way over to Cana once I reached her I said good evening Cana! Cana looked up at me from her cup and she said Good Evening Mira! I noticed that Cana had dark circles underneath her eyes.

Cana must've read my mind because she said Erza and I haven't been sleeping well the past couple of days, How come? I asked inquisitively, Cana placed her glass onto the counter and she said Natsu hasn't been sleeping well at night because he keeps having vivid nightmares, Which is why Erza and I asked Master Mavis if she could help Natsu in any way possible!

Cana's explanation broke my heart because I truly care about Natsu's health and wellbeing, not only is he one of my guild mates but he is also my little brother, Is there anything I can do to help? Cana simply shook her head before she said sadly there isn't much we can do to help him besides just be there for him.

I gently grasped Cana's hands with my hands and I said if you and Erza need a little break to catch up on your sleep I could gladly help you both out, I could even have him spend a couple of days at my place, besides I have plenty of unused space that Natsu can use! Cana gave me a tired smile and she said let me talk to Erza and I get back with you after we talk.

Cana then stood up and she walked to the infirmary to get a little bit of sleep until it is time for her to take Natsu home, I made a silent vow to myself that I would try to help them both out with whatever they need, Lisanna hasn't visited me in quite a while, She just told me yesterday that her and Sting are expecting their first child, I'm very excited.
