The scene began somewhere beyond the multiverse as it shows A.C.T. Variant Authority base where Kitty Lalonde from Intermission 2 looks on at the screen.
Kitty Lalonde: The crossover multiverse number 0 seems to be good. Though... There are no other variants of that line. Thought it was dying, yet it still keeps on generating. Why?
Then one of agents walk up to her as she turns to him.
A.C.T. Agent: Ms. Lalonde, how's the subject named Damian "Cole" Rook going?
Kitty Lalonde: He's going well. Though, isn't he supposed to be concern of his development with friends?
A.C.T. Agent: Well, it doesn't look like it. The boss seems to like the way for his "plan."
Kitty Lalonde: Plus, why is he important to the "Boss?"
A.C.T. Agent: I don't know. None of us don't know about him. Look, just focus on job before he notice us not focusing.
Kitty Lalonde: Right...
With that, the agent leaves as she observes.
Kitty Lalonde: What is Kahn going to do with him?
In present-day Whitestone, Vox Machina and the resistance ran through the town from any pursuing guards.
Archie: *To the Elven Rebel revealed to be named Bryn* Spread word of our escape. Rendezvous in the morning.
Bryn nods and she along with other rebels part ways from the group, while Vox Machina and Archie arrive outside the hideout. Keyleth stops for a moment and looks back at the fake Vox Machina still hanged. Cole notice this and looks at Keyleth.
Cole: Key? *Walks up to her* Are you alright?
Keyleth: Yeah... *Looks down* I'm fine.
Cole then looked at the hanged fake Vox Machina for a small second. Then he looked back at Keyleth and held her hand, causing her to look at him slowly.
Cole: That's not going to be us.
Keyleth: How can you be sure?
Cole: Because we have each other, and we won't go down without a fight. Let's go before they spotted us.
She smiles for a bit before they continue until they make it to the hideout. But as soon as they got inside, Vax start talking to Percy with a glare.
Vax: Time to start talking, Percival. The fuck happened back there?
Percy: I assure you, I'm in control.
Vax: Oh, were you in control when you point that at me? I saw you're eyes!
Percy: The pepperbox is a potent tool. I...I may have gotten carried away.
Vax: Oh, I swear, if you turn that thing on any of us again, *Grab Percy by the collar* I will not hesitate. I will kill you.
He then lets go of Percy and walks away.
Vex: *Looks at Percy* Percy, holding that weapon, it's like you're a different person. What is it?
Percy didn't respond leaving the room to stay quiet.
Vex: When we came here, darling, you promised no more lies. You owe us the truth.
Percy: You're right. The creation of the pepperbox begins five years ago.
Cole: Oohh, flashback story!
