Notu Magic
Notu possess a unique ability to manipulate and shape malleable inorganic material within a range of approximately six ingots from their gemstone. This ability is primarily used by notu to mold a malleable material around their gemstone into the form of a body, enabling them to move and defend themselves. However, there are certain limitations to a notu's ability, including:
Inability to bend rigid materials: Notu are unable to manipulate materials that are inherently rigid and inflexible.
Inability to bend or manipulate biological or otherwise organic materials.
Inability to bend or manipulate malleable materials that are encased in biological or otherwise organic materials like internal sweat, urine, spit, and tears.
Notu can bend external sweat but there is rarely enough of it to enable substantial manipulation or restriction of a creature.
Notu can also irritate the water on the open eyes of a creature, temporarily obscuring vision until the target blinks. Goggles are often employed as a defensive measure against this sort of attack.
Inability to manipulate malleable materials when encased in a rigid material or otherwise obstructed by a substantial rigid obstacle.
If a malleable material is within six ingots and behind a large wall, but one of the edges of the wall is also within six ingots, the malleable material can be bent.
If a malleable material is within six ingots and behind a large wall, the edges of which are not within six ingots, the malleable material cannot be bent.
Limited capacity to increase the rigidity of malleable materials: A notu can only make a malleable material as rigid as thick clay or a similar level of solidity. For instance, they can make a substance like water feel as solid as clay, but not as solid as rock.
Susceptibility to fragmentation: When a notu's malleable body is struck by a solid object or used to strike a more solid surface, there is a tendency for those parts of their body to break into pieces.
These limitations define the boundaries within which a notu can utilize their manipulative abilities.
Yetu Magic
Yetu possess a unique ability granted by their antennae, which allows them to tap into the fabric of creation. Through this connection, they can extract precise and detailed biological and locational information about living biological organisms within a range of up to thirty-six blocks. Additionally, Yetu can obtain an approximate understanding of the location of inorganic/non-living materials from the fabric. However, it is important to note that while a Yetu can gather information from great distances, their spell casting abilities are subject to the same limitations as any other vetu.
A limitation with respect to yetu senses is their capacity to process information. Similar to someone with eyes looking at a complex painting, while they can look at the whole painting in a glance, they might not notice particular details until they more closely observe it, likewise a person within a yetu's perceptive range is not likely to be perceived or identified until the yetu puts in more effort to intentionally observe the individual more closely.
Additionally, similar to the way one person with eyes can see where another person with eyes is looking, one yetu can determine where another yetu is focusing their perceptive attention when using the fabric of creation to see.
