Ritufani
Belief systems which posit the existence of a singular, greatest, divine, creator being often known as Ritu.
Nifani
Nifani is a denomination of Ritufani. Nifani members believe that Ritu is goodness, truth, and the journey towards goodness and truth. Nifani also believe that vetu are fallible in their ability to identify goodness and truth. This implies that no vetu can claim, with absolute confidence, that any being, spirit, or media is Ritu, is of Ritu, or is inspired by Ritu.
In fact, Nifani consider claims of absolute knowledge to be viceful and consider the acknowledgement of potentially flawed or incomplete knowledge to be virtuous.
Therefore, the pursuit of Ritu is a humble search for truth and goodness.
Nifani will often operate as though the best working theory on a matter were truth. While theories are never posited as absolute truth, theories do exist in a hierarchy where some theories are considered more likely to be true than others. This hierarchy can shift in light of new information and not every nifani agrees on how the hierarchy should be arranged.
Similarly, while ethical ideas are never posited as absolute good, ethical ideas also exist in a hierarchy which can shift and over which there may be disagreement and discussion.
Ultimately, the Nifani church has set hierarchies dictating various theories as being the best for a given topic, and various ethical ideas as being best for certain situations. Congregations operate on the set of hierarchies defined by the church in their functions, however, individuals have a right to hold their own personal hierarchies. The hierarchies of the church can be changed, though doing so requires a board of representatives to hear arguments and come to a decision.
Below are two widely repeated slogans among nifani:
"All goodness and truth are Ritu's goodness and truth."
"All vetu knowledge is potentially flawed or incomplete. Therefore we must do the best we can with the best knowledge we have acquired at that time."
The Nifani mission is to gain knowledge, sharpen knowledge, and heal brokenness while simultaneously combating misinformation, manipulation, injustice, and sources of suffering and death. They believe the pursuit of knowledge is an eternal purpose guiding them ever closer to Ritu. The mission is all about the journey, because the destination of absolute knowledge and truth is widely assumed to be impossible for vetu to reach.
Vefani
Vefani is a denomination of Ritufani. Vefani members believe that the original relationship between Ritu and vetu was such that Ritu was the definer of vice and virtue while the vetu were to abide by Ritu's definitions and co-rule over the world with Ritu.
It would come to pass that the vetu decided that they wanted to define vice and virtue for themselves. Thus the vetu entered into rebellion against Ritu which would ultimately lead to the shattering of the land and the plunging of all vetu into darkness. In the darkness the notu, as the vetu who were least rebellious, would fall dormant and the other vetu would fall into depravity and begin to view each other as vemo, resulting in much bloodshed.
Ritu never gave up on the vetu. Ve slowly worked with select tribes of each vetu kind to incrementally steer them back into adopting Verself as their definer of virtue and vice. These chosen tribes would one labor be tasked with bringing Ritu's teachings to all other tribes of vetu.
Ritu's work was slow and gentle so as not to cause another rebellion. However, Ritu's gentleness would come at the cost of many misconceptions among vetu regarding Ritu's nature and intentions. Additionally, due to the many raging wars and what many would call a plague of transgressions, many would come to believe death and vice to be powers which are equal to, if not greater than, Ritu.
