Once they got to school, Cherry began to feel uneasy and Popsicle noticed.
"Cherry, what's wrong?" Popsicle asked curiously as he adjusted his backpack.
"Nothing." Cherry replied as she pretended like that was indeed the case.
"It's ok, you can tell me." Popsicle assured.
"I'm fine." Cherry exclaimed.
Popsicle shrugged his shoulders. "If you say so."
"I do say so." Cherry said as strolled into the school.
Popsicle leaned towards his friend and whispered. "Fruit, I don't think she's fine."
"That much is obvious." Fruit whispered back. "But the question is why?"
"I've got an idea." Popsicle said. "Let's watch her through out the day and see if we can figure out what's bothering her."
"Let's do it." Fruit agreed before they walked into school.
The school didn't look like any regular one. For one thing, it looked to be made out of sweets. From, the walls to the floors and even the doors and lockers.
Sometime later, Cherry was approached by a dark purple boy. He slicked back his blue spiky hair that had a dark magenta streak in it before he spoke.
"Still having trouble seeing color, Cherry?" the boy asked.
"First of all, that's Princess Cherry to you. And second, that's none of your business." Cherry replied as she tried to continue down the hall to her next class.
However, the boy stopped her just as Fruit rounded the corner towards them. Fruit ducked back around the corner so he wouldn't spotted by the other boy.
"I'm sorry, your highness." the boy said, sarcastically. "But I'd rather not be ruled by someone who can't even see colors.
Cherry didn't say anything. However, Fruit could see that she was about to cry. He decided that he'd seen enough and approached.
"What is your problem, Cotton?" Fruit asked the boy.
"I just gave some criticism." Cotton replied. "It's not my fault, she can't handle it."
"You have no right to treat her like that." Fruit said.
Cotton scoffed. "You're only saying that, cause ya live with her."
"No. I'm saying it because it's true." Fruit corrected. "Now, leave my best friend's sister, alone."
Cotton scoffed, again. "I don't have ta listen to you." He then noticed Fruit's necklace. "Say, that's a nice necklace. Ya got. Be a shame if I took it." He reached for it but Fruit grabbed him by the wrist.
"Don't touch my necklace." Fruit warned as he threw Cotton's wrist out of his hand. "Come on, Cherry. I'll walk ya to class."
Cherry nodded as she followed her savior away from Cotton.
As they were walking away, "This isn't over, Fruit Loop." Cotton exclaimed just as they turned the corner.
Sometime later, "Thanks for that, Fruit." Cherry said.
Fruit's eyes widened. "Um, you're welcome."
"I mean it, ya know." Cherry assured.
"I believe you." Fruit said. "So, that's why you don't like it here?"
Cherry nodded as they passed other students. "Cotton Candy somehow found out that I can't see colors, very well."
"Hmm." Fruit mused. "I didn't know you couldn't."
"Really?" Cherry asked in disbelief.
Fruit nodded. "Hard to tell, really."
"Huh." Cherry said as she thought back to how Fruit when Cotton tried to grab his necklace. "Fruit, how come no one is allowed to touch your necklace?"
Fruit stopped dead in his tracks, which caused her to stop as well. He then turned to face her. "That's how all necklace wearers are, Cherry?"
"Why?" Cherry asked curiously.
"It just is, ok." Fruit said. "Don't worry about it."
"Alright, I guess." Cherry said. "Ah, here's my class."
"Good." Fruit said. "I've got get to my special study hall, bye."
"Um, bye." Cherry replied as she watched him leave. "What does he mean by 'special' study hall?" Cherry thought to herself as she and fellow students went into the classroom.
