It's the next morning and 6 days remain in Hadi's execution. As Detective Ahmed makes his way to his cabin, he's told that Hadi wants to see him as he as given another statement to the IGP that he was pressured into saying he was guilty. He knows Hadi has made up his mind.
Hadi agrees to coming clean and fighting to save himseld, even though the ray of hope is bleak. The Detective lets out a sigh of relief.
"Lekin sir Sazaa-e-maut toh kabhi reverse nahi hoti. I read somewhere, "mistakes that are made cannot be unmade", that's why hanging is inevitable. Jisko bhi sazaa mil gayi usko sooli par charhna hi padta hai. Toh fir aap mujhe kaise-"
"-Jaanta hun. Isiliye tumhein mujhe batana hoga, kya hua tha uss din. Aur yeh mujhe sir mat bolo, kahin Mir Shah ko pata chal gaya na toh khair nahi hai meri." He laughs.
"Yehi toh problem hai, SIR! Maa Baap ne rutba, aish, aaram sab diya, leking mehez aik izzat ke baare mein bataana bhool gaye, maine bahot logon ko hurt kiya hai, bezzati ki, bura salooq kiya, kyunki meri zindagi mein mujhe sirf meri khushi dekhna hi sikhaya gaya. Aur-" Hadi lets out a short laugh while wiping a tear that rolled down his cheek. "-Aur Allah ke baare mein toh batana hi bhool gaye shayad, shayad isiliye meri zindagi mein sukoon nahi hai. In akhiri dino mein, jo sukoon mujhe aik mazaar par jake wahan dua kar ke milaa hai woh kisi araam kisi aish, kisi badi gaadi mein nahi mila. Allah mere maa baap ko bhi hidayat de." He looks above and prays.
Detective is taken aback by his words. It was normal for him to find out that Hadi was innocent but what he said pierced through his heart.
"Qatal Danyal ne kiya hai." Hadi says after a pause.
"Danyal kon? Aik minute, politician Qasim ka beta Danyal?"
"Ji. Ussey opportunity mil gayi us din mujhpe ilzaam lagvane ki. Woh opposition hai aur Mir Shah ka eklauta waris main, woh mujhe sazaa dilva kar apna rasta saaf karna chahta tha kyunki ussey pata tha ke unki party kabhi bhi humse elections nahi jeet payegi."
"Ohhh my God! It all makes sense. Footage nahi mili college ki, koi witness nahi, koi saboot nahi. Wow! Isiliye woh pen drive mein bhi broken footage hai, to prove you wrong." Ahmed is astounded.
"Sir konsi pen drive? Aur-Aur woh footage humne li thi college se aur system se delete karva dii. Lekin jab humne check kiya toh footage mein kuchh khaas nahi tha kyunki almost all cameras were off aur jo chal rahe the wahan pe sirf main shoot karta dikh raha tha, wohi drive Danyal aur uskey bandon ne humare guards ko gher ke churali thi." He frowns and gets angry at himseld at the same time.
"Oh! Wohi footage cut and mix karke unhone tumhari wife I mean Sanam ji ko di, ke woh bhi tumse rishta tod dein. Kya chaal hai!"
"Kya!" Hadi's eyes are wide. He takes a gulp in his throat and gathers the courage to ask.
"Uss din jab woh aayi thi, mujhe pen drive deke gayi thi, lekin kuchh bola nahi. Usmein college ki footage hai jab tum shoot kar rahe the. Bahot chaalaki se us footage ko cut aur merge kiya gaya hai ke koi normal insaan dekhega toh yehi sochega ke qatal Mir Hadi ne kiya hai."
Hadi's feet cannot support his body any more. He moves back and leans against the wall that supports him.
"Aap-Aapne mujhe kal kyun nahi bataya yeh?"
"Batata toh tum maan jate apni begunahi ke liye larhne ko?"
"Lekin Sanam ko toh ab yaqeen ho gaya hai ke qatal maine hi kiya hai. Hey Allah!" Hadi says, and realises this is the first time he called Allah aloud.
"Haan. Lekin tum fiqar mat karo."
"Nahi nahi, mujhe kuchh prove nahi karna. Bas aap jayein aur mujhe meri halat pe chhod dein."
