Too Late

Hamza and Momina reach the police station discuss about Hadi's US citizenship with Detective Ahmed and he gets to work. Hadi had pleaded not guilty in these last few days with the reason that he was forced to plead guilty before and Sanam took her testimony back and took a statement in favor of Hadi that he's not the murderer.

Hamza had already emailed the whole situation to the US Embassy.

Hamza calls in all the favours influential people owe him to accelerate this and he finally gets a meeting with the US consulate.

After 2 hours of meeting, he comes out defeated, along with the detective. The US consulate officials can't do anything in this much time frame even though they recognise that Hadi is a citizen and they might have been able to do something had they been given a week's time.

Momina, who was waiting for him outside all this time, sees the look on his face and realises - it's too late.

Khaani's wedding preparations are in full swing as her family is unaware of the chaos happening. Khaani didn't tell her family anything. 

Junaid, on the other hand, has an idea of what's going on as when her mother called him the day Hamza took her, he had the people from his organization find out what was happening.  He got to know that Sanam visited Hadi in jail, reason unknown, and that she took back her testimony as well as Hadi had changed his statement and pleaded not guilty. He thinks that Hadi's brother, Hamza either built up a story or a fake proof and fed to Sanam, which caused her to go meet him and take her testimony back. But he didn't understand what the use of  it was, since Hadi's sentencing is tomorrow.

Detective Ahmed realises he has to take a drastic step now that there is no feasible option left to save Hadi.

It's 8 P.M. at night and Momina and Hamza come home drained out after talking to police officials, political leaders and every influential figure in authority. Some time later, Momina comes out of her room to check up on Hamza as they are alone at home since Mir Shah and Sitaara wanted to be with Hadi.

She comes downstairs, unable to find Hamza in his room, and doesn't see him in living room either. She goes to his office and sees his back turned to her and leaning against the table with a drink in his hand and looking at wall. The wall has Hamza's degrees, his photos with influential people, his recognitions, national and international. And in the middle is a black and white photograph of his mother and him, from when he was little. Along with this photo, there is a photo of him standing proud with Hadi as the big brother when he graduated with a degree in America. He wipes the tear from one eye with the back of the hand he's carrying the glass in. There is no photo of his father in the office, which Momina had just realised.

She knocks on the door. Hamza turns abruptly wiping his tears.

"Ohh Momina!"

"Hamza why are you drinking?" She is exhausted and mad.

"Thoda...." He pauses to control his emotions, his tears and continues, "Thoda dard.. kam ho jaata hai. Kyunki main sharaab ke bagair yeh sab sehh nahi paunga." He starts to break.

"Hum koshish kar rahe hain na." Momina doesn't know what to say in consolation.

"Kya koshish kar rahe hain yaar! Main- main kisi kaam ka nahi hun jo apne bhai ko nahi bacha saka. Lahnat hai mujh par, mere wajood par. Mujhe uski jagah mar jana chahiye. Gunah maine kiye hain Mona, usney nahi!!" He shouts and it echoes through the whole house.
