"Arrey tumhein nahi pata, Momi ka matlab kisi bhasha mein pearl hota hai."
"Kis bhasha mein?"
"Um- yeh toh bhool gaya main. Lekin main aaj se tumhein momi bulaya karunga, kyunki tum meri cute si pearl ho. Koi aur tumhein iss naam se nahi pukarega, sirf main." A 16 year old Shehryar promised his 12 year old little sister, Momina, who gives him a blooming smile because her brother was her protector and saviour from all things bad, until he became the bad.

Growing up without a mother, whom they lost in their teenage years, Momina and Shehryar were very close. Their father wanted both of them to take over his established businesses.
Shehryar was never close to his father and blamed him for not taking enough care of their mother as she was ill. He always saw that their father prioritised his businesses more than their mother, therefore he doesn't want any of these businesses, due to which their mother's health was neglected. 7 years ago, they had a fallout, when Bashir Malik found out that Shehryar doesn't want to run his father's businesses and instead established other businesses without his knowledge. But it was when Bashir Malik found out how Shehryar managed to save capital funds to establish and run successful businesses, is when he banished him from the family, never to contact him and Momina again. Momina felt deceived as her brother left her struggling to manage her father's businesses and the fact that despite being very close, he didn't tell her anything, made her hate him. She kept obsessing over where it all went wrong, and how could her brother, who was her protector, leave her all alone in this world. But this made her more resilient, tough and a cool-headed mature woman that she is now. All these years she has learned to never let emotions come in between your decisions and plans, and to never be attached to someone so much that they could destroy you.
Shehryar had managed to save up capital investment for his business by illegal means. He would come to Pakistan often and got into the illegal trading and supply of weapons, which is how he managed to start multiple businesses in the U.S and Pakistan and generate links to powerful and dangerous people, including Mir Hamza.
Momina dug deep enough on Hamza to find out that he also gets his weapons from Shehryar. The attack that happened on Zoya's wedding, when Hamza came guns blazing, that was all supplied by Shehryar as well. Momina heard so much about his illegal doings that she stopped thinking she has a brother. He does not exist in her normal life, except today, because sometimes we all need the help of the devil.
T-minus 5 minutes
Hadi comes out of his cell, his neck, hands and feet tied in shackles. A group of policemen surround him. Detective Ahmed and a police superintendent are in the front, as they make their way to the gallows.
Sanam hears the chains and looks over at Momina, who comes looking for Detective Ahmed in the hallway and hears the same. They run to the inside corridor to see him, but the policemen at the door stop them.
"Toh aap hamein rokeinge. Aapko pata hai khatoon ko bina permission haath lagane ka kya khamyaza bhugatna padega?" Momina exclaims while Sanam begs and cries to him.
"Mohtarma aap andar nahi jaa sakti."
"Dekhein mujhe Ahmed Saab se bahot zaroori baat karni hai. Jis qaidi ko sazaa hone wali hai usski sazaa radd ho chuki hai IG ki taraf se aur mujhe yeh Detective Ahmed ko aur superintendent ko batana hai." Momina says and notices Sanam's face light up once and dull with pain and regret again. She knows what Sanam is thinking.
The constable laughs in her face.
"Kuchh bhi." He says while laughing. "Aap shayad nahi jaanti ke sazaa-e-maut kabhi radd nahi hoti. Jayiye yahan se."
"Aur tum shayad yeh nahi jaante ke tum kis se baat kar rahe ho. Tumhein lagta hai main yahan mazak kar rahi hun? Samajhte kya ho apne aap ko? Apne detective ko yahan bulao abhi." Momina distracts him a bit and Sanam sneaks in the corridor quietly. She tries to find where Hadi is. After struggling to find a way, she finally sees a glimpse of him in another linked small corridor, which has a door leading directly to the gallows. Sanam feels like her insides will be vomited out at this sight of the entrance to gallows. But she musters up the courage to run to him.
"Hadi!" Sanam runs towards him.
For a moment, Hadi feels like he is hallucinating, because this can't be real.
Sanam calls out to him once again.
He freezes, only to lift his head up and turn to see two of the policemen running towards her, probably to get her out of there.
He cannot believe his eyes. He sees the love of his life for the last time, panicking and calling out his name.
"Atleast she loves me. Meri mohabbat zaaya nahi gayi. Alhamdulillah!" Hadi thinks and smiles, looking up at the almighty. He looks over to Detective Ahmed, who isn't surprised by seeing Sanam inside, he realises it's probably him who told her.
As the policemen approach her and try to get her out of there, she screams, "Chhodein mujhe! Ahmed saab, mujhe aapko kuchh zaroori batana hai."
The Superintendent looks over at Ahmed with suspicion. Knowing this, Detective goes over to Sanam and tells the policemen to leave her.
"Sanam ji aap andar kaise aayi?" He lies.
"Uh- mujhe aapko kuchh batana hai." Sanam says and looks over at the 2 policemen.
Ahmed dismisses them as he knows Sanam might not want to talk in front of them.
"Bolein."
"H-Hadi ki sazaa rad ho gayi hai."
"Kya?! Kaise? I mean kisne kaha? IG saab ka communication aaya kya?"
"N-Nahi, please Momina ka phone pick kar lijiye."
Ahmed takes out his phone and sees he has 32 missed calls from Momina.
"Shit!" Ahmed lets out a frustrated sigh and calls her back.
Momina tells him everything and leaves Ahmed baffled and angry. "IG Saab ko last day aur last minute hi decision lena tha." He thinks.
He turns around to inform the superintendent, only to find they are not there.
"They must've went ahead with the hangi- no no no!" His heart drops to his feet as he checks the time on his watch. Sanam realises that it's too late. She collapses on the floor while Ahmed runs to the gallows.
As Ahmed goes to inside, he sees them putting the black cloth over his head.
"Usman saab, ruk jayein! Bahot bada jurm ho jayega!" He shouts while running to the superintendent.
Under the head covering, Hadi smiles to himself with closed eyes, picturing Sanam smiling and telling him she loves him, his parents caring for him, and his brother, protecting him from everything. He feels how fortunate he has been to have this life, and how he wasted a life that Allah brought into this world. He asks for an apology from the almighty and prays He grants his loved ones happiness and peace for life.
