Alleged Coward

The same day, Sanam goes out for wedding shopping and then dinner with Junaid. As they are coming back, news are coming on the radio.

"Breaking news! Abhi abhi Karachi mein se khabar aayi hai ke politician Mir Shah ke bete, Mir Hadi ko Sarim Khan ke qatal mein giraftaar kiya gaya hai. Pichhle saal hi Sarim, jo University of Karachi ke student the, unka be-rehmi se, unpar goliyan chalaa kar qatal kiya gaya. Ab tak pata nahi chal paya tha ke qatil kaun hai lekin Mir Hadi ki aik 5-second clip raato raat viral ho gayi jismein woh fire karte hue dikh rahein hain. Kahaa jaa raha hai ke aawaam iss mudde ko le kar bahot gusse mein hai, aur isska anjaam sazaa-e-maut bhi ho sakti hai. Bataya jaa raha ke Mir Hadi ne khud hi surrender-" Junaid turns the radio off, while looking at Khaani, as she seems shocked out of the bounds. She is staring blankly into the road, not even aware that tears had been flowing from her eyes.

"Surrender? Aap- aapne band kyun kar diya?" Sanam lashes out at Junaid, angry.

"Mujhe laga aap ko sun kar-"

"Rehne dijiye." She gets frustrated.

Junaid parks the car on the side of the road.

"Mujhe aapko kuchh batana tha."

"Aapne gaadi kyun rok di?"

"Meri baat sun lein. Actually hamari non-profit ne yeh sab shuru kiya tha."

"Yeh sab matlab?"

"Sarim ke liye justice mangna, aur Hadi ko sazaa dilana, hamari hi organization ne yeh sab social media pat viral kiya taa ki aawam tak yeh jankari chali jaaye." Junaid finishes, and sees Sanam's face turning red.

"Aur- aur woh video?"

"Woh kisi anonymous source se hamare email par aayi thi. Sanam hamare hath aisa saboot laga ki humne socha issey abhi viral kar dein is sey pehle ke un politicians ko bhinak bhi lage. I'm sorry maine tumhein pehle nahi bataya. Lekin ab daro mat, Sarim ke saath insaaf hoga, aur Hadi ko hum sazaa-e-maut dilaa kar hi saans lenge." Junaid seems happy and relieved, like his hard work bore fruit.

Khaani instantly knows who the anonymous source was who sent the video.

"Mujhe mat batayiye, main jan'na nahi chaahti."

"Sanam ab tumhari help chahiye. Uska baap, Mir Shah kuchh na kuchh karke usski saza kam karva dega. Lekin jab aap bayaan dengi ke usney aap ke saath kya kuch kiya-" Junaid pauses as Khaani gives her a piercing look.

Then he continues, "-toh hum ussey sazaa-e-maut dilvaa sakte hain."

"Mujhe nahi dilaani ussey sazaa-e-maut!!"

"Lekin Sanam, aawaam hamare saath hai, Hadi jaise darinde ko sazaa-e-maut se kuchh bhi kam milaa toh woh kuchh bhi karwa sakta hai jail mein se."

"Maine sunli aapki baat, lekin main aisa nahi karungi. Uskey marne se mera bhai toh vapis nahi aa jayega."

"Haan lekin-"

"-Bas. Aap mujhe ghar drop kardein nahi toh main yahin se bus par chali jaati hun."

"Nahi, nahi. I'll drop you."

Mir Shah plans to get Hadi out of the country, and go to America with Hamza. He pulls a lot of strings within the system so as to not have any travel restrictions on Hadi when he gets bail. Within a matter of another couple days, he organizes an event in Dubai, in the hopes of Hadi leaving for Dubai with Hamza, as everyone knew Hadi was a successor to Mir Shah, and he was not proven guilty yet, as the 5-second clip hadn't shown Sarim being clearly shot and killed by Hadi. Mir Shah discusses this with Hamza, but Hamza is in disbelief.
