(Scene took place on the day of Purple's first appearance in the maze.)
He glanced down at the mare who was comfortably laying down on his couch.
She seemed to be in peace when she had her eyes closed. Free from the high levels of stress and anxiety for now.
He silently plops down beside her, hoping not to awake the mare.
Once he had made himself comfortable, he looked at the ceiling of his cabin without any thoughts in his mind. He too was at peace.
Her rhythm breathing was aligned with his.
Just him and her alone in the room.
It was a time where she took a break from the outside world and it was a time where he took a break from his loneliness.
Two opposite ponies, complementing each other.
Both are aware that their time together is running out but neither are willing to think about it, in fear of ruining the day.
The mare yawned and she softly smiled when she noticed the stallion beside her.
She was happy to be his companion and loves the security she feels from his presence.
He was the type of pony who always kept his word. As his visit to Pony Town was a longer one than it should be. And it was all because she asked him to.
She needed more time.
The stallion lazily opened his eyes again and it came into contact with hers.
He gently nuzzled her. He wasn't exactly a big fan of her admiring him. There was nothing she should be enthusiastic about towards him. But he can't help but feel a little fondness for her actions.
She had often tried to make him see the best of himself. She assisted in teaching him a few pony mannerisms which he had been robbed from when he was a colt.
It's not like he knew anything better... After all, he thought that all of the stuff he was taught was right and justified. Never did he question it.
Until he met her.
Ever since that fateful day, she had brought nothing but light and joy in his life. She was his first friend. And he greatly cherished her.
He was supposed to leave a few weeks ago, but he didn't.
He needed more time.
Both worlds collided with one another, creating multiple possibilities and a life they had never before thought of.
The mare coughed in pain and blood spilled onto her hoof.
The isolation she will soon experience has arrived.
The stallion sighed and helped her up.
The new found guilt and regret silently stabs him. But it was for the best. It was her choice to trot this path. And if he could, he wished that she never did.
All he can do now is to support her, leading her back to her home.
A home she had once described as a home that was full of life and warmth.
Now it had that contrasting feeling.
Empty and cold.
Magic tends to be picky at times and the conditions he had set out for her were inevitable.
Suddenly the mare broke into tears. She was scared. Afraid. Frightened.
The stallion could only do so little for her and had instead hushed her panic state.
He wished he could tell her that everything was going to be alright but he knew better not to. After all, it won't be alright. She would be experiencing a messed up life from now on.
Something he nor she can redo.
Finally, she had all of her stuff ready to take with her to the maze. One that was created by her parents.
After watching the players of the maze halfway through the game, she gave her farewell to the stallion.
The lights flicked then it went out - sending everypony to face the dark.
He watched her go down into the maze and he presumed that she would make her way out of the lobby and to the seemingly endless maze.
The stallion locked the door of the maze's building and would anonymously let out to the public that it had shut down - abandoned by the hosts and owners.
This is where their story briefly ends...
And soon begins another one.
A pony tale that everypony knows...
