y/n walked into charms class with her new friend, stella. stella gave y/n a quick tour of the classroom before they settled into their seats.
"looks like there's no teacher today, but he left us some work, unfortunately," stella said, showing y/n the chapter they had to work on.
draco entered the class with his friends, laughing and making a lot of noise as usual.
"what's up, stella," mattheo greeted her, playfully slapping the back of her head.
"you mother—" stella started but caught herself, then smacked him hard.
"bloody hell," mattheo winced.
"you're such a weakling," stella teased.
mattheo shot her a side glance. "don't make me start on you."
as stella and mattheo bickered, blaise chimed in, jokingly defending mattheo as his "boyfriend."
a laugh drew draco's attention. he turned to see y/n chatting with theodore and lorenzo. he couldn't take his eyes off her; she was so beautiful, and her laugh was incredibly attractive.
"stop staring, weirdo," tom muttered, earning a side-eye from draco.
"shut up," draco retorted, rolling his eyes.
when lorenzo and theodore walked away, draco saw his chance. he approached y/n.
"hey," he smiled.
"hi," she smiled back, and draco thought her smile was absolutely adorable.
"what's your name?" he asked.
"y/n. y/n y/l/n. and you?" she asked, tilting her head slightly.
"draco. draco malfoy," he replied, and she smiled.
"that's a cute name," she said.
his heart flipped at her words.
y/n, meanwhile, was having similar thoughts. she found draco incredibly cute.
"when did you start here? i've never seen you around," draco asked.
"today, actually. i wasn't surprised the sorting hat put me in slytherin," she shrugged, and he smiled.
"well, i'm glad you're in slytherin," he told her.
"me too," she replied with a smile.
neither of them could stop smiling.
"would you like to go to hogsmeade together this weekend?" draco asked suddenly, catching her off guard.
"oh, yes, of course!" she exclaimed.
"i'll cover everything," draco offered.
"no, i can't let you do that," she protested.
"i insist, please," he said.
she sighed softly. "okay, fine."
he smiled as he sat down next to her, feeling their arms touch.
"so, i was thinking we could..." she began to discuss plans for the rest of the class, and he joined in, too excited.
