Elara's PoV:

Wow... well that's just amazing... no words can describe it... wow. Just... wow.

Her birthday ended up being a bigger deal then she intended it to be. Elara was hoping that everyone will get so caught up in April Fool's Day (the day when jokes are made, aka, her) and she was hoping that they would completely forget about her birthday. But, no, that didn't happen: her friends and siblings were actually really sweet about it.

They'd all gotten her something as a gift: all the other Hermes kids banded together without her knowing and baked her a giant cake which tasted really good, by the end of the day, the whole thing had been devoured by them all; Leo made her a fidget toy (because he noticed how much she fiddled with her fingers when bored) that you can build into a mini catapult -really cool.

Annabeth had gotten her a new sketch book and a box of graphite pencils because she was running drastically low of drawing supplies. Elara likes to draw landscapes in black and white: she finds that there's something calming and soothing in doing it.

Piper had booked paintballing for the girl's trio to in two days' time which was going to be so fun; Jason gat gotten her a bunch of irises which are her favourite flowers, she didn't know how he knew, but loved them all the same. And, Sally and Paul managed to get in touch and invited them all to dinner at their place.

So, yeah, it turned out to be quite special, really.

As the day that they would be going to Camp Jupiter came ever nearer, Annabeth found herself able to talk about Percy more; the daughter of Hermes was there for it, of course, talking with her and explaining things about him to the others, but, Gods of Olympus, does she talk about him a lot.

Seriously, by the time the other three have met him, they'll even know which side of the bed he sleeps on!

She hauled herself out of bed and pulled on some clothes, brushed her hair and took her toothbrush and toothpaste to the camp toilets. She looked in the mirror and sighed, poking at her chin and forehead: she was really breaking out and all of her spots were bright, glaring red... why bright red? Why? It just makes it way more obvious.

She contemplated borrowing some of her sisters' makeup, but then remembered that to have beautiful makeup, you must have artistic talent and a beautiful canvas. Yeah...

She looked in the mirror again and sighed. She thought that she clearly doesn't have the second, even on a good day. Besides, it'll all -probably- come off when she inevitably sweats while training.

"Hey, Iron Man." She greeted, walking into Bunker Nine with her hair pulled back into a high ponytail. Last time she worked on a project with a few Hephaestus kids, her hair got caught in the project and a clump was harshly ripped out. That hurt.

"Lara! Hi!" He grinned like a madman, turning away from the battleship to face her.

She saw that the figurehead was the bronze dragon that Beckendorf had pulled out of a Myrmeek lair. She smiled at the memory... when they (she, Beckendorf, Selina, Annabeth and Percy) were almost killed by giant ants because they were distracted in the middle of a capture-the-flag game. Oh, what a joyous occasion.

"What can I do?" She questioned, sitting on a work bench which was -surprisingly- clear at the end except for a puddle of motor oil.

So, the pair worked and worked and worked on this thing for hours, only stopping for lunch in the Bunker because they couldn't be bothered to go over to the Mess Hall.

"Have you fed the dragon any motor oil and tabasco recently? He really likes that, you know." She wondered aloud, breaking the silence that had settled over the two.

"Yeah, I have." He grinned with a mouthful of sandwich. "How'd you know he likes it?"

"I was there when we discovered him in a giant ant's lair. Beckendorf wouldn't leave without it." She laughed.

"Seriously?" His eyebrows shot up in amazement. "Wait- so did you build him for the first time?"

"Nah, that was Annabeth." She admitted, Elara only helped Beckendorf build him afterwards and she wasn't that much of a help. Oh, well. "Quite poorly, really, we were under pressure coz we didn't want him (Beckendorf) to get eaten. Then, I helped him re-build the dragon." She looked up at the figurehead, happy that she could still see it and remember those two: Beckendorf and Selina.

"Annabeth? Really?" He looked amazed.

"Yeah, not her strong suit, but she can build stuff." She took a large bite of her wrap. "She could come help too, if you want."

"Ah... I think I'll give it a miss. Thanks though." He looked down sheepishly... wait... was he scared of Annabeth?

"What did she do?"

"Nothing! Just ran up to us after we barely survived the Grand Canyon with a tell-me-where-Percy-Jackson-is-or-I'll-kill-you sort of aura." He laughed.

"So... what do you really think of her?" She loves her friend with all her heart and nothing could ever change that, so she wanted everyone else to lover her too.

Leo sighed. "She's scary alright, but not so scary once you get to know her." That checks out.

Then, he looked up at her with confusion. "And what do you think of me? Being a fire summoner and all... I thought that you would hate me so much, coz, you know..."

"I'm just done with running from it." She sighed. "My fate is set in stone. Nothing that I do will change that. I'd rather be friends with you than hide from you for the rest of my life. Besides, you're great! Has to be another fire."

The pair shared a wide grin, then fist-pumped and got back to work.

"Lara! Piper!" Annabeth called as she ran over to the lava wall that they were just about to climb.

"What is it?" Elara queried, taking in her friend's huge smile and bouncy energy. Something good had happened and she was so there for it.

"You'll never guess what Mellie just asked us to do!"

She led them away from the wall and into the strawberry fields to talk, excited as a puppy.

"What did she ask?" Piper's eyes had turned a light blue mixed with sunny gold: her excited colour.

"She asked if we would like to be bridesmaids at hers and Hedge's wedding in May!" She cried and the daughters of Hermes and Aphrodite squealed like fangirls.

"What did you say?" Elara asked, worried that she'd responded with a 'no'.

"In what world would I ever say no to that?!" She appeared aghast at the prospect, causing the other two to laugh. Whatever tension there had been between Annabeth and Piper had now completely gone. It was brilliant. "YES!! Of-course I said yes!"

"Yay! Oh, my Gods, oh my Gods, oh my Gods!" Piper was beaming from ear-to-ear. "What are our dresses? When exactly is it?"

"Well," Annabeth began. "She said that the bachelorette party will just be with her and other nymphs. We won't be going to it. But we're going to go out with her in two weeks to get our dresses and the actual ceremony is on the 12th of May!"

Oh, my Gods... this was amazing!

Ahhh, they're getting married!!

I still can't believe that Rick brushed over it like it was a minor detail. Seriously...

Anyways, thank you all so much for reading, you're all amazing <3
