Elara's PoV:
Seriously, nothing can be easy anymore, can it? Why? Just- just why?
"Piperrrrr." Elara whined, waiting outside the Aphrodite cabin with Annabeth. It was the next day and they were going out, just the three of them! Isn't that great?
"Coming! Just a sec!" She replied, then came out a few moments later looking drop-dead gorgeous in black jeans and a purple T-shirt. "Hey! So, you ready for paintballing?"
"Of course!" Annabeth exclaimed as though it were obvious, grinning from ear to ear.
"We could turn this into a whole day out, you know." The daughter of Hermes suggested as they walked out of camp; Argus refused to drive them there. Rude.
"A girl's day?" Piper's eyes lit up. "Hell yeah! I've wanted to have a girl's day for Gods know how long!"
"Let's do it, then." The daughter of Athena agreed, her grin broadening. "We could go to Sally and Pall's place after paintballing, too. It'd be great to see them again."
"Yeah, it would be!" Elara agreed, then turned to Piper. "They're Percy's parents. Absolutely amazing people, trust me."
"I believe you." She smiled.

Honestly, they can never get a break, can they?
The trio had just sat down at a café, ordered drinks (iced tea for Annabeth, hot chocolate for Piper and Chi Latte for Elara) and their food: a croissant for the daughter of Athena, pastel de nata for the daughter of Aphrodite and sticky sweet baklava for the daughter of Hermes.
The poor, poor waitress as well...
"So, I didn't want to ask this earlier, but..." Elara glanced between her two best friends, uncertain as to whether or not to question the reason for the tension that had been between the pair or not, now that it was gone. "I love you both, but why didn't you really get along to start with?"
They both shared a look, then Annabeth sighed. "It's because I had to break the news to Pipes that Jason didn't know her before that day at the Grand Canyon."
The daughter of Hermes furrowed her eyebrows, not catching on. She made a gesture for them to continue.
"In my Mist memories, we had been dating." Piper explained.
Elara's mouth hung in an O shape.
She thought that... she thought that they were dating? Wait- does that mean that she still likes Jason? Oh, Gods. But- but she kissed him! Twice!! Oh, Gods, oh Gods, oh, Gods. She didn't want to lose her friendship over a boy.
Annabeth simply laughed, not understanding the true reason for her shock. "Yeah, don't know how they were together, but she kinda hated me for revealing that and "breaking them up"."
"Sorry." The daughter of Aphrodite mumbled.
"Do you still like him?" Elara hid her worry by wriggling her eyebrows and giggling.
"I don't know." She tilted her head to the side. "I feel like I should, but I don't actually know who I was in that time when I thought I had been spending all of my efforts and time on getting him to notice me as something more. I'd like to work on myself first before thinking about that, you know?" Piper looked around at them uncertainly as though what she had just confessed was stupid and something to be embarrassed by.
"Makes sense: the Mist is weird." Annabeth agreed. "Besides, you may not even like boys."
They all laughed a little, then the daughter of Hermes added in: "If you need help finding your awesome self, we're always happy to help."
