Taehyung trudged through the door, his exhaustion palpable. The grueling comeback schedule for BTS's new album had taken a toll on him.
He just wanted to collapse onto the couch and forget about the day's events.
Jennie, lounging on the couch, looked up at him with a weak smile.
"Hey, babe. I was thinking, could you cook something for us? I'm not feeling too great."
Taehyung's eyes narrowed, his annoyance simmering. "Can't you see I'm exhausted? Can't you just order something or make it yourself for once?"
Jennie's smile faltered, her voice taking on a slightly defensive tone. "I'm not feeling well, and I didn't think it was too much to ask. You're always saying I should take it easy when I'm sick."
Taehyung's expression turned incredulous. "That's when you're really sick, not just a little under the weather. And I'm not exactly feeling like a chef right now."
Taehyung and Jennie's argument continued to simmer, their voices growing hoarse from the back-and-forth.
But as the minutes ticked by, Jennie's energy began to wane. She was still feeling under the weather, and the stress of the argument was taking its toll.
Finally, with a sigh, Jennie threw up her hands. "Forget it, Taehyung. I'll just cook something myself."
Taehyung, exhausted from the day's events, merely grunted and lay down on the couch, closing his eyes.
Jennie shot him a look, but he was already drifting off, his chest rising and falling with slow breaths.
With a shake of her head, Jennie headed to the kitchen, her movements slow and labored. She prepared a simple meal, her mind still reeling from the argument.
As she cooked, the silence between them grew, punctuated only by the sizzle of food and Taehyung's occasional snores from the couch.
When the meal was ready, Jennie brought it over to the coffee table, sitting down beside Taehyung, who was still fast asleep.
She let out a soft sigh, her eyes fixed on his peaceful face, the argument already feeling like a distant memory.
Jennie gazed at Taehyung's peaceful face, his exhaustion evident in his slow, deep breaths. She knew he was drained, both physically and mentally.
With a quiet sigh, Jennie got up and headed to the bedroom, leaving Taehyung to sleep on the couch. She didn't bother waking him, knowing he needed the rest.
As she changed into comfortable clothes and climbed into bed, Jennie couldn't help but feel a pang of loneliness.
She had hoped they could cuddle up together, forgetting their earlier argument, but Taehyung's exhaustion had gotten the better of him.
Jennie snuggled under the blankets, her eyes drifting shut as she listened to Taehyung's distant snores.
She knew they would make up in the morning, but for now, she just let the silence and solitude envelop her, drifting off to sleep.
-
Jennie woke up to a throbbing headache and a wave of dizziness washing over her. She groggily reached for her phone to check the time, only to realize she had overslept.
Panic set in as she threw off the covers and stumbled out of bed.
Meanwhile, Taehyung was already up and getting ready, oblivious to Jennie's condition. He glanced at his watch, frowning as he realized they were running late.
He stormed into the bedroom, expecting Jennie to be up and ready, but instead found her curled up on the bed, fast asleep.
"Jennie, wake up! We're going to be late!" Taehyung exclaimed, shaking her awake.
Jennie groggily opened her eyes, wincing in pain. "Taehyung...I'm sorry...I don't feel well..."
But Taehyung was already gone, leaving Jennie to struggle out of bed and stumble to the bathroom. She splashed water on her face, trying to shake off the haze.
As she made her way to the living room, she saw Taehyung pacing back and forth, his phone in hand. "You didn't wake me up like you always do. Now we're going to be late for the schedule."
Jennie's eyes welled up with tears. "I'm sorry...I didn't mean to...I'm really not feeling well..."
Taehyung's expression softened slightly, but his frustration still lingered. "We'll talk about this later. We need to go, now."
Jennie weakly reached for her phone and dialed her manager's number, wincing as she sat up in bed.
"Jiyoung oppa, it's Jennie. I'm not feeling well. I think I'm going to have to skip today's schedule," Jennie said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Jiyoung's voice was laced with concern. "Jennie, what's wrong? You sound awful. Should I send someone over to take care of you?"
Jennie shook her head, even though Jiyoung couldn't see her. "No, I'll be fine. I just need to rest. I don't want to risk getting anyone else sick."
Jiyoung sighed. "Okay, take care of yourself. We'll adjust the schedule accordingly."
Jennie nodded, already feeling a wave of exhaustion wash over her. "Thanks, oppa."
With that, she hung up the phone and snuggled back under the blankets, letting the darkness close in around her once again.
