Trevor only scrutinized the stunned expression on Selene's face. He saw the girl with wide blue eyes, staring at the tall blonde with long hair and golden eyes, as she was confronted and cornered by Adrian.

Belmont even noticed that his beloved daughter always came home with strange marks on her neck when she returned from the forest. Marks of someone possessive. He knew the style because he was also a bit like that with Sypha. But the monster hunter always thought that Selene would introduce him to her someone in time.

"Jesus with flying fangs, will you stop confronting my daughter like that and leave her alone... the reports you hear about her... weren't they made by the boys who came to propose to her and I ran them out of here?" Trevor defended his child, even though he agreed that there was something strange about his daughter.

Trevor respected Selene enough to know that she had to make her own decisions, even though he didn't want the risky future of a monster hunter for her, although he knew that to be a Belmont was to put duty before desire.

The bearer of the whip and the Belmont legacy, he wanted to spare Selene as much as possible from that life of danger and torment, where you weren't always recognized and people always thought that a Belmont had an obligation to put his life at risk because of the surname he carried.

Alucard merely examined Trevor deeply, reading in him the usual stubbornness, and sighed.

"The fact is that your daughter has been seeing and talking to someone who may be using astral projection." - Alucard commented to Trevor, seriously.

No smiles and none of Alucard's usual glances that Selene knew as unacknowledged desire directed at her father.

Alucard continued speaking:

"Well Trevor, I doubt you don't have that kind of knowledge... but just in case you don't know, astral projection can only be used if the person has a mirror impregnated with dark magic or worse, a powerful being who can leave their own body and appear wherever they want and to whomever they want.... Even my father couldn't astral-project without the aid of a dark mirror. However, if there was a mirror, I would feel the magical trail of darkness in it... but I don't feel that. Which means that whoever visits her can simply do so with the power of the mind and without the aid of magical artifacts."

Selene went pale. Trevor noticed her stunned look. She pulled up a chair from the rectangular wooden table where they ate and sat down, as if her legs were suddenly weak and she was trying to process the information with them.

"I thought you'd come to see me, for my name day, dear godfather..." Selene tried to change the subject.

Adrian sighed slightly in surrender to her hurt pleading eyes. The beautiful blond dhampir with his arms in front of his chest and still intently studying the stunning woman who was the light of the lost in the darkness, from what he knew of the moon goddess, Diana.

Selene was the avatar of the moon goddess on earth, which meant she was the queen of the damned. The daughter of a monster hunter, she was the light of the lost and outcast. Ironic. Adrian thought.

He pulled out a chair from the simple table and sat down at the head, next to the girl. He brought his hand up to her face and stroked her cheek with his thumb in a very intimate gesture.

"Princess... My shrill, inappropriate and totally irrational favoritism for you does not exempt me from the fact that you are frightening the townspeople with your abnormal behavior and I must, as their representative, confront you, my dear." Adrian replied less critically, trying not to surrender to her completely and with his golden eyes on the girl's magnificent blues, which she had inherited from his loved ones, sternly.

However, the dhampir could no longer remain convinced as he saw the loneliness in her eyes. The call of the lonely goddess, who became flesh, because she felt alone in the moon's home.

" However, yes... I came to see you on your name day, my dear. Let's forget about the uncomfortable questions for now and talk." Alucard noticed solemn and soft.

For Adrian, it was useless to try to fight the destructive wave of love he felt for Selene. A possession, because she was a piece of his platonic loved ones and, at the same time, was simply the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.

Greta and Adrian grew apart every day, because he wasn't aging like her and she seemed hurt by him for that.

Trevor, despite being deeply uncomfortable, seeing Selene happy, never stopped Adrian from getting closer to her. However, now the half-vampire's looks at Trevor's child were uncomfortable. Adrian didn't age like a human, he still looked young.

Selene stopped frowning and pursing her lips and just smiled at her godfather. Her smile once and for all melted the calculating coldness with which the handsome blond man came to confront her.

Alucard, giving up on his previous conviction to confront her about the talk they made about her.

He just took a package out of a bundle with purple fabric and handed her an elegant round wooden jewelry box.

As soon as Selene opened it, the girl saw a beautiful silver ring on a red satin cushion with a full moon-shaped stone, made from moonstone.

Miss Belmont held her breath, choking. That was the only reason Trevor didn't take her gift.

"Godfather" Selene sighed, trembling, for her gift and simply fascinated and excited by the ring. "It's beautiful. Wonderful. Thank you very much! I loved it."

Her excitement was clear. A strong wind started and the dark clouds stopped covering the moon.

Alucard smiled showing his fangs. For some reason, he seemed almost childish now.

Trevor just observed the gift, which must have been very expensive, becoming a little uneasy due to the fact that it was a ring and not a necklace. He really didn't like it. It was as if the vampire half-breed wanted to mark his territory. It seemed something like an engagement proposal, although Alucard always presented Selene with magnificent dresses, jewelry and books and was already married to Greta, yet this time his gift was very inappropriate.

"You're not asking her to marry you, are you, leech? " Trevor provoked the vampire, evaluating Adrian's intentions with the gift, wanting to show how inappropriate it was for him to present a young woman of marriageable age with such an expensive ring. "You already have a wife."

Adrian just remained silent, watching Selene take the ring out of the jewelry box and place it on her finger. Trevor sighed reading Adrian's delight watching Selene put the ring in her finger, even though he was disgusted.

"Daddy, don't pick on the godfather." Selene spoke with her father, placing the ring on her right ring finger and looking at the ring that fit perfectly on her finger, satisfied.

"Well, gift delivered. I have to go back." Informed Adrian and stood up.

Selene, somewhat insecure and reluctant, also got up from the table. The young Belmont brought her face closer to Adrian's and gave him a long kiss on the cheek. Adrian's golden eyes met Selene's blue ones for a long time.

Trevor looked away from them, upset. He really didn't like Selene and Adrian's unhealthy closeness.
