THIRD PERSON

AZZI ADJUSTED HERSELF ON THE COUCH as she gazed at the blonde girl next to her. The news she just got kind of broke her heart all over again, "So, you guys date now, huh?" Azzi asked, fiddling with her fingernails.

Paige nodded, excitedly, "Yeah." She fiddled with her bottom lip with her tongue, "I asked her last night when we were at the gazebo you guys set up. She loved it by the way." She laughed, touching Azzi's hand, sending chills through the curly headed brunettes spine. "If I'm being honest though, we kind of asked each other out, you know?" She let out a laugh.

"Wow." Azzi said as she checked her apple watch. Anyway to avoid any type of awkwardness with the blonde girl. Azzi would be lying if she said she wasn't too excited for this news. It still hurt her in a way knowing how bad she still wanted Paige. She thought she was doing the right thing talking to Inara and giving up Paige but deep down it didn't feel right. She knew wanting something she couldn't have would do nothing but continue to drive her madly insane. "You're lucky. Inara is gorgeous." She complimented.

Blushing, Paige gave Azzi a closed lipped smile, "I know. Thanks." She scrolled through TikTok on her phone.

Azzi nodded her, compressing her comments.

"You know.." Paige let out a sigh, "I'm glad you're so cool about this. It feels good to know you'll always support me no matter what happens." She shot Azzi a smile.

"Of course." Azzi forced a smile. Feeling the temperature rise within her body, she let out a sigh only she could hear. It was hard trying to bottle in her emotions and be there for Paige even though she knew she wasn't happy for her. Again, she thought talking to Inara would fix the problem but she was still unhappy and felt that it wasn't fair that everybody could live happily ever after and she couldn't.

Paige on the other hand knew that her best friend fully supported her and got over things easy. She knew this because she felt like she was getting an unlimited amount of support from her best friend ever since she had apologized to Inara.

Paige smiled, thinking. Biting her lips, she shook her head, "She's just perfect. I don't know." She shrugged, scratching the back of her neck, "Mmtch." She smacked her lips before nudging Azzi's shoulder, "Why I might be in love?" She laughed, making Azzi chuckle.

"In love is crazy work." Azzi smiled.

"Hey." Paige put her hands up in defense, "I can't help it." She laughed. "You ready, though? We got practice in 30. We might as well head down to the gym." Paige got up, making Azzi get up as well.

"Yeah, I just have to go grab my bag." Azzi said.

"Can you grab mines too?"

"Sure."

Azzi walked to Paige's room first considering her room was before hers. Searching for her basketball bag she came across Paige's other phone. Picking it up, she examined it and noticed she had just got a quick message from Inara. Without thinking, Azzi quickly opened the phone and deleted the message. Azzi had hoped Paige hadn't seen it on her main phone yet.
