Official Statement from the Royal Family Regarding the Gratzítakken Joust
Heir Prince Ashton:
The Royal Family of La Gracía hopes this message finds you well. We wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their well wishes after our weapons malfunctioned at this year's Gratzítakken Festival Jousting Ceremony.
As you can see, we are still on the mend, but we will both be attending our events on the regular schedule as soon as possible. In the meantime, we will be resting up at home and getting each other through this short recovery period.
Every sport poses a little bit of risk for injury. Even if you have years of practise, accidents can still happen when you least expect them. It's important to take every safety precaution you can and this was a reminder for us to do the same.
We're very lucky our injuries were quite minimal and just surface level. We are being more cautious than necessary and just have to wait a little bit for the swelling to go down.
As much as we appreciate all of the flowers being sent our way, we would like to redirect those wonderful intentions to Cøllette Children's Hospital Fund, where donations can be made any time at the phone number [(+1010) 3222-487]. The work they do inspires us both every day and we want to ensure they have the resources they need to continue to change the lives of children in need.
All of the support we have been sent has made an enormous impact on us and has made our short recovery period feel restorative and refreshing. We are so grateful to each and every person who has sent us well wishes. Please know we are sending the same to you, always. To anyone recovering from an injury or illness with us, we are all healing together.
Even though we are competitive on the field and during games, we would never let anything come between us as brothers, as family, [and] as best friends. We're always going to be on each other's side; always working together to make sure our people are our top priority.
