Flashback-2
Manik staying with Nandini post-delivery was a boon to her; after a month of delivery, Nandini was healed and healthy. Mahir had vacations, which made new parents spend time with the kids. The parents fit into their role perfectly. Manik had been the one to take care of Mahir when he was born. Therefore, he helped Nandini, who is looking after the baby.
One of the biggest advantages for Nandini was that she did not have to wake up at night that many times, because when she opened her eyes at midnight, she could see Manik carrying her and walking from left to right. The sight was a bliss to her. Nandini knew she could depend on Manik for her baby.
The other blessing was Mahir; the ever-so-silent Mahir had been the first one to talk to his baby sister. Unlike other kids who want to spend their time watching cartoons or playing, Mahir sticks to the baby's side the entire day, invoking small conversations with the baby. Manik was stunned seeing Mahir talking with a kid who was yet to make her first movements.
Present
It had been six months since Manik and Nandini had brought their baby home from the hospital. They had adjusted to having a baby in the house, and they were now getting into a good routine.
Manik was still taking a break from work and attended only important meetings from his home office. Whereas Nandini, on the other side, has been working from home alongside Harshad for their upcoming collection.
Mahir has been doing much better than before, he is less shy and awkward with others and has been doing well in school as well. In short, he is what a 6-year-old should be like.
The baby was growing and developing rapidly. she was now sitting up, crawling, and even starting to say a few words. Manik and Nandini were so proud of her, and they loved watching her grow and learn. Of course, the happiest of them all was Mahir, as now he gives his undivided attention to his baby sister and no one else.
But every happiness has ended or is tested; this came in the form of Singhania's. Nandini, with the birth of the baby, had completely forgotten about her ex-in-laws. But they did not. Singhania's were planning big, something very big.
SInghania's Mansion
Madhyam was waiting for his mom and dad to arrive, since the time he had been dating Navya, they did not mind as long as he did not do something that would harm their reputation.
Soon they arrived with displeasure on their faces, which was visible; neither Madhayam greeted them nor did they see him with a warm look or smile.
His mother said, "Why are you here, Maddy? What have you done this time?"
Madhyam rolled his eyes, "I haven't done anything; it is you guys who are trying to mess with my career."
His mother scoffed, "As if you make any money making music."
His father continued, "What happened? He asked, putting an end to the mother-son argument before it escalated.
"I heard you are bothering Nandini for the baby's custody."
"Isn't she your child?"
"She is mine, but I have already signed the paper for giving Nandini full custody."
"How can you be this careless? What will happen when the people find out that the baby is Singhania's grandchild? We will be taking custody soon, irrespective of whether you like it or not."
"But why? I am happy the way I am. Why do you guys have to mess with the things I want to."
His mother continued, "That is why I told you not to marry her; she gave the divorce and took full custody. I know she is planning something, but I want to end it before she does something. What if she asks for alimony after the baby is born."
