Katherine "Kitty" Harper was born in London, England, as the only daughter of Richard Harper, the ruthless commander of the underground paramilitary group known as Steel Legion.
From an early age, Katherine was subjected to her father's unyielding military discipline, growing up in an environment where the innocence of childhood was a luxury she could not afford. Richard instilled in her extreme and often brutal lessons that blurred the lines between loyalty and betrayal. At just ten years old, she faced the darkest aspects of these teachings when commanded to execute a traitor within their ranks. He warned her that any sign of emotion or hesitation would result in severe punishment. When she pulled the trigger, the gun clicked empty—only for her father to step in and deliver the fatal shot himself. This chilling lesson reinforced his desire to mold her into a soldier rather than a daughter.
Despite her harsh upbringing, Katherine proved to be exceptionally intelligent. By the age of 17, she had earned degrees in psychology, electrical engineering, and industrial design. However, her true passion lay in archaeology—a field her father vehemently disapproved of, viewing it as frivolous compared to the military path he envisioned for her. Frustrated by the constraints of her upbringing, Katherine made a bold decision to escape her father's oppressive grasp. She stole money from him and fled to Australia, driven by an insatiable desire to explore the Kuniya Dreaming Trail, a sacred site rich in the creation stories of the Aboriginal people.
