After being with Marshall for a little over a year, Sophia found out she was pregnant in March of 2018. Thrilled with the prospect of being a mother, Soph can't wait to tell Marshall...
Despite Thanksgiving having been on the 23rd almost a week ago, today is our Thanksgiving as Soph didn't want to have it the day before her surgery.
We decided against disclosing the nature of her surgery to anyone, keeping it between the two of us and instead opting to tell people it was just a follow up thing from last month.
Soph being Soph decided that even though her surgery was only 5 days ago and she's still in pain that she would cook.
We wanted to make Ava's first Thanksgiving as a family special so to make things even harder for Sophia, she's cooking for 14 people: myself, herself, Ava, Hailie, Evan, Alaina, Matt, Stevie, Jace, Nathan, Ashley, Audrianna, Liam and Carter.
"You sure you don't need help?" I ask as I walk into the kitchen and grab a Diet Coke out of the fridge.
"Everything's under control." A stress looking Soph tells me as three separate timers go off at once.
"What are they for then?" I ask her, trying to surpress my laugh.
"I don't know." She huffs and turns to me with tears brimming in her eyes.
"Let me order take-out or something, nobody will mind." I offer as I pull her into a hug to which I feel her shake her head.
"I want to cook but I'm just exhausted and I don't know what all of these timers are for and I'm overwhelmed and stressed and I want it all to be perfect and nothings going right." She rambles and we both turn to look at the hallway in unison as we here the front door shut, moments later Alaina and Matt appear in the doorway.
"I know we're early but we jus-" Alaina begins before noticing my arms wrapped around Sophia and all of the timers going off around us. "You ok?"
"Stressed." Soph replies quietly.
I watch in admiration as my eldest daughter immediately forms a plan of action and begins firing off orders to us.
"I'll help Sophia with the cooking, Matt, dad both of you go and set the table." She says before walking over to me and Soph as the pair start talking about what's in the oven.

"That was amazing Soph, thank you." Ashley says as she finishes her meal, causing Audri and Nate to nod in agreement.
Liam, Carter and Ava had left about 5 minutes earlier to go and watch Home Alone, as per Sophia's previous warning the Christmas movies have started and Ava wants to watch them everyday.
I glance over to see Sophia's beaming smile as she realises that the meal she was so stressed about turned out good.
I feel every doubt I've ever had about us wash away in that moment and with absolute certainty I now know that she is the person I want to spend forever with...

A/N - small warning I'm not American so I honestly don't really have any idea about Thanksgiving and any traditions surrounding it so for the next chapter Google will be my best friend and I apologise if anything written may be incorrect.
