After the war ended, the surviving warrior candidates were transported to the port of Liberio, where they lived. The Mid-East Allied Forces had signed a peace treaty with Marley, and now the world knew—Titan power was fading. Marley's leaders realized they needed the power of the Founding Titan more than ever.

Udo lingered behind, idly kicking at the dirt until he found a small rock. Bored, he toyed with it, tossing it between his hands as he wandered toward Gabi, Falco, and Zofia. They stood by the shore, staring at a sinking ship in the distance as the sun dipped below the horizon.

"Hey," Udo said, breaking the silence. "Even if the Titans end up useless in war, what happens to us in the warrior unit? What's gonna happen to the Eldians?"

Zofia glanced over her shoulder, her expression blank but her words sharp. "Maybe they'll kill us all."

Udo's breath hitched, caught off guard by her bluntness. "What?!"

"What did you expect?" Zofia replied, shrugging. "Did you think they'd give us a safe place to live? Treat us fairly?"

Udo looked down, his voice losing its edge. "No... I guess not."

Trying to shift the mood, Falco chuckled softly. "By the way, my neighbor used to say the sea is salty because he used to piss in it all the time."

"Ew, gross." Udo scrunched his nose, shaking his head. "It's salty because of the rocks on land and the sea floor, not because of... that."

Zofia smirked a rare hint of amusement in her eyes. "Huh, if they knew you were that smart, they might start suspecting you."

Though Zofia's remark was backhanded, Udo felt a flicker of pride. He was used to being the one underestimated.

Their attention shifted as the clatter of chains and footsteps filled the air. A group of men marched in line toward a ship. "What's going on?" Falco asked, frowning.

Udo squinted, recognizing the haunted looks on the men's faces. "They're transporting traumatized enemy soldiers—those who survived attacks by pure Titans.
