Then came the scream. The one I hadn't heard in what felt like a lifetime, the one I didn't want to hear, and yet, somehow, I did. 

The rumbling of boulders smashing into buildings. Explosions. Deafening 'booms,' and screams—screams everywhere, blending into the chaos.

"Now's our turn. Let's head out." Levi's voice cut through the noise, calm and focused.

"Yes, sir!"

Without hesitation, we launched forward. Mikasa and I shot out of the building and were immediately swallowed by the swirling gusts of smoke rising from the wreckage.

"Mikasa, you need to help—"

"I know." Mikasa's reply was sharp, and before I could even finish my sentence, she had already disappeared, her ODM gear propelling her toward Eren. I barely caught a glimpse of her before she vanished into the smoke.

I turned to face Eren, my breath catching as I saw him struggling against the War Hammer Titan's white spike, which pierced his stomach like a spear. Gas hissed from the wound, and the sight made my blood freeze for a moment.
