I froze, hearing a sound from the back of the airship. It wasn't the usual creaking of the ship; it was a distinct, heavy impact.

"What was that?" I muttered, pausing mid-step.

Wait.

What?

Don't go there.

Why?

Just... don't.

If it's a threat, I can kill it.

Then what is it?

POP!

A gunshot rang out, echoing sharply down the narrow corridor. The sound was too close, too loud. My blood ran cold.

"The hell? Did someone accidentally shoot?" I said speed walking back to the entrance, The sooner I got closer, it was a group of soldiers shouting and yelling, not a cheer at all. My pace turned into a sprint, sliding open every door in my path.

"What was that?! Is everything okay--

A soldier lay on the floor, blood pooling beneath him. Jean and Connie knelt nearby, their faces pale with horror, and there, sprawled on the floor.

But I looked again to see the person I never thought would be on the ground.

"SASHA!"

I dropped to my knees beside her, my hands already shaking. Her eyes were half-closed, her breaths shallow and ragged. "Sasha! Hey, stay with me!" Connie's voice cracked as he pleaded with her, his hand gripping hers tightly.
