Chapter thirteen - Forget it man, get high!

It's been a week. A long, dreadful, exhausting week, for me. With everything going around about Rookie and I, I can't say that it's been peaceful at all. Especially when I'm with Stella out in public.

Thankfully, I was at my cousin's house for the weekend. Him and his stoner friends, of course.

"Yo, Vinny! How've you been man? Been some time." His friend, Leo, said. I found him as a cool dude. He was responsible, respectful, and honestly kind of hot.

I shrugged, dabbing the guy up.

"Not much. Hey, do I seem like a perv to you?" I randomly asked. He looked at me first before saying, "No, the fuck? Who's been calling you a perv?!" He gasped.

"Probably some girl he tried getting with." Their friend, Alex, laughed, slapping a forceful high five to my cousin's hand. My cousin, Nick, just slapped his hand away.

"Not cool, man." Leo said to Alex, making Alex roll his eyes. Then Leo's attention was back on me, "Anyway, no, I don't think you are. I also doubt you would press a girl if she didn't want anything with you, no offence." I shook my head. "None taken, man." I replied, having worse thoughts in my head. "Okay. So. who thinks you're a pervert?" He asked with a brow shot up. "Umm. Nearly the whole School." Whatever conversation was floating through the air that I surely missed out on was now done. All attention was on me and I felt anger build up because of it.

"I'm...sorry?! Why?" Leo flipped. I let out a sigh. "Remember Markus? The dickhead on the football team?" They all nod. "Well, he told Josh that Darren saw me and Stella at our grandmas."

"Yeah, I heard about that! Grams was getting changed and apparently Stella stormed in on her!" Nick laughed at the memory. "Yeah. But apparently because I was smiling and running in after her, people are thinking I'm...touching...her." I shivered at the thought, disgusted. They all had their jaws hung open at the newfound info. "Trust me, I know." I said to their open mouths.

"What the fuck?!" Nick stood up. "Wh—WHAT?!" He shouted. "Fuck man, I need a toke." He said as he stood up to his chair, shaking his head. "And here I thought Alex was bad!" Leo joined.

"Hey Cuz, can I have some of that?" I asked Nick. "Sure, man, you need it." He said with a nod. I pranced over there like it was fucking Christmas. I needed a good high after all this shit.

We were all stoned by the end of the night. Nick's friends, besides Leo, had all left, especially Alex. I never told Nick nor Leo but I hated that goofball.

"Okay, I think it's obvious what we need to do here." Leo spoke up. We were all just chilling on Nick's bed watching 'Peaky Blinders'. What Leo said next should make sense why this was his favourite show.

"Hmm?" I hummed. Focusing my gaze on him. I was so stoned I don't think I could actually form a sentence.

"We get that Brain kid or whatever down!" He announced. Nick and I shared looks of saying is he dumb? "How do you mean, Lee?" Nick asked, clearly high. I thought about correcting Leo but I decided against it. Who fucking cares what his name is, as long as he gets fucking handed to bears or something!

"I mean we take this fucker down!" He exclaimed. "Like...murder or something?" Nick asked, Leo nodded. I tapped my chin at the thought. "Alright. But first we take down whoever thinks Rookie killed his father."

Oh, yeah. I told them about that, too.

"For sure! I like that kid. Never met him or saw him, but just because of his name, I like him!" Leo threw a fist in the air. I chuckled. "Yeah. I like him, too." I said.

Just not in the way you think.

"So what's your brilliant plan, Leo." Nick asked, rubbing his eyes with his palms.

"Do you remember Ceaser?"

"Uhh, yeah?"

"That man. Is your answer." Leo pointed a finger in my chest. "Alright," Was all I managed to say in my stoned state.

But you know what? "Ah, forget it man, get high! I don't wanna make this night depressing anymore." I said.
