I had just dropped Stella off at School when my phone vibrated rationally in my pocket. It was Josh and apparently my life was over.
And so was Rookie Chandler's.
Josh Posh:
Yo, man! Heard ur touching little girls. Not cool, bro, not cool.
I grimaced at his text. What the FUCK?!
Me:
Huh??? Where tf did you get that from???
Josh Posh:
Idk man. Markus said that Darren saw Stella running away from you into someone's house and u ran after her. It kinda does look like u were tryna do something with that smile on ur face.
Me:
Smile on my face? Where the actual fuck are you getting this from? A picture? Some meathead's words???
Josh Posh:
Ya.
Josh sent me a picture of me holding Stella's hand in front of our Grandma's house. I was smiling in it and she did run into the house when grandma was getting changed so I ran after her.
Whenever I find this dickhead, he won't dare to send out another picture.
Me:
Dude! I was at my gma's and she was getting changed so yeah, I ran after Stella before she could witness that monstrosity!!
It was pointless even typing that because I knew he wouldn't respond. And he didn't.
Shortly after when I was making my way to School (lividly) I saw a bunch of people whispering in the halls about Rookie and the 'mysterious death of his Father'. I couldn't make out what they were saying at first, until I heard someone say he had something to do with it.
They were talking about Rookie Chandler killing his Dad.
I heard about his Dad's death. Not once did I ever picture him doing...that.
I had to warn Rookie. I needed to. Otherwise he will be the one being put behind bars!
But I knew one thing I was getting involved in. The Police? No, beatings? Abso-fucking-lutely!
So I ducked into one of the classrooms where I knew his class was in the same hall as and waited for him so I could yank him in here.
And when I saw him, I did just that.
