A V Y A A N
As we walked out of campus, Karan turned to me with a sly grin. "Dude, I think Nitika likes you."
My jaw dropped. "What? No way!"
Karan chuckled. "I'm serious, Avyaan. I overheard her conversation with sofia. She was fuming after talking to Sofia."
I raised an eyebrow. "What does sofia have to do with anything?"
Karan filled me in on the details - how Nitika had fought to work with me, how she'd stood up to sofia when she tried to intervene. I couldn't believe it.
I shook my head. "No, Karan, you must have misheard."
Karan shrugged. "Test it out then. Talk to sofia, see how Nitika reacts. If she's interested, she'll definitely show some signs."
"Me? With sofia? That chipku chipkali chii!! I won't" I said with a chuckle.
"Then we should do something to make her jealous maybe? Should I ask bella directly?" Karan raised an eyebrow.
"Don't do any stupid things" I glared at him.
I considered Karan's words as we walked out of the campus gates. Could it be true? Did Nitika really like me?
I made a mental note to observe her behavior around me, to see if there was any truth to Karan's claim.
As we walked out of campus, Karan's words kept echoing in my mind. Nitika likes me?
I remembered the times we had worked together, how she would occasionally smile or laugh at something I said. I had always brushed it off as mere politeness, but now I wasn't so sure.
Karan's suggestion to test her feelings by talking to sofia seemed like a idiotic idea.
I felt a thrill of excitement at the prospect of uncovering Nitika's true feelings. Could it be that she had been hiding her emotions all this time?
As I walked home, I couldn't help but replay our past interactions in my mind, searching for any clues that might have hinted at her feelings.

Next day,
I rushed across campus, already running late for my lecture. As I turned a corner, I saw her - Nitika, the girl who had been on my mind since Karan's revelation. She was standing with someone, laughing and smiling, and my heart skipped a beat as I assumed the worst.
As I got closer, I saw that it was Rishi, handing her a small package. My mind raced with thoughts of why he was giving her gifts. Nitika's face lit up as she took the package, and Rishi said something that made her giggle.
I felt a pang of jealousy, my mind clouded by possessiveness. I thought about Karan's words - "Nitika likes you" - and felt a surge of excitement. But now, seeing her with Rishi, I wondered if I had misinterpreted everything.
As I watched, Rishi said something else, and Nitika playfully rolled her eyes. They exchanged a few more words, and then Rishi took off, leaving Nitika to open her package. She squealed with delight as she pulled out a small panda-shaped kitchen gadget, and I couldn't help but feel a twinge of disappointment.
