As Nitika stood outside Avyaan's flat, her heart racing. She took a deep breath and pressed the doorbell. The soft chime echoed through the silence, and she waited, her eyes fixed on the door.
It swung open just a few seconds later, and Avyaan stood before her. He wore a faded black t-shirt that clung to his broad chest, and a pair of worn jeans that hung low on his hips. His hair was messy, as if he'd just rolled out of the bed.
"Come in."
Nitika stepped inside and he gestured for her to sit. Nitika sank onto the couch tapping her feet and fidgeting with her fingers.
Avyaan sat down beside her, his thigh brushing against hers. She felt a jolt of electricity at the touch, but he didn't seem to notice."So," he said, his voice low and gentle. "I'm glad you came."
Nitika nodded, her voice caught in her throat. What did he want to talk about? Why had he asked me to come here? she thought still tapping her feet.
Avyaan's eyes seemed to bore into hers as if searching for something. She felt a flutter in her chest, unable to handle the gaze she finally spoke.
"What' do you want to talk about?"
He leaned forward, his eyes locked on hers "I wanted to talk to you about us," he said, his voice low and husky. "About what happened last night"
"Do you remember what you said?" Nitika asked.
"Yeah" He nodded
"Those things— you said yesterday.....Did you mean them?" She blurted out.
Avyaan reached out and gently wrapped his fingers around Nitika's hand.
"I remember everything I said to you last night, and I mean it," Avyaan said.
"I have fallen for you, Nitika. And it's freaking me out, because I've never felt this way about anyone before."
Nitika's eyes were trapped in Avyaan's, unable to look away as he poured his heart out to her.
Avyaan's grip on her hand tightened, his fingers intertwining with hers. "So either you give me what I want," he said, "or I'll just have to keep wanting it, and never get it."
Nitika's heart pounded in her chest so did Avyaan's.
"You—you like me...?" Nitika gasped as she couldn't believe it.
Avyaan chuckles and cups her face "No. You Idiot. I love you" He expressed.
"I...I feel the same way."
The words spilled out of her like a confession, like a weight had been lifted off her shoulders. Avyaan's face lit up with a radiant smile.
Nitika's heart soared as Avyaan pulled her into a tight hug, his arms wrapping around her like a warm embrace. She felt like she was home, like she had found a place where she belonged.
As they pulled back from the hug, Avyaan's eyes locked onto hers, "Really?" he asked, his voice trembling with emotion.
Nitika nodded, a smile spreading across her face. "Really," she said, her voice firm and resolute.
