I stepped into my flat, still grinning from ear to ear. The thrill of the amusement park lingered, but it was Nitika's forgiveness that had me walking on air. I kicked off my shoes and collapsed onto the couch, letting out a relieved sigh.
"Finally," I whispered, eyes closed, savoring the moment.
The weight of uncertainty had been crushing me. Would she ever forgive me? Would I lose her forever? But now, all that anxiety melted away.
I sprang up from the couch, still buzzing with excitement. My eyes landed on the mini-bar, and I headed straight for it. "Time to celebrate," I said aloud, pulling out a chilled drink.
As I poured the drink into a glass, my mind wandered back to Nitika. Her bright smile, her infectious laughter... and those piercing eyes that saw right through me.
Why didn't I confess my feelings on the Ferris wheel? The perfect moment, wasted. Fear of rejection, perhaps? Or fear of ruining our newfound peace?
No matter. I'll find another moment, soon.
I took a sip of the drink, feeling the tension melt away. The taste was bitter, but my heart was sweet with relief.
"I'll tell her," I vowed, gazing out the window.
"I'll tell her how I feel."

Avyaan poured himself one more drink, his mind consumed by Nitika. Every second spent with her today replayed in his mind like a cherished melody.
He downed the glass, feeling the liquor's warmth spread through his veins.
Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out the keychain he'd bought for Nitika – and himself.
As he gazed at it, memories flooded his mind.
He recalled the keychain, where Nitika's face lit up with a radiant smile upon seeing the keychain.
"You teddy... You made her smile!" Avyaan slurred, his words barely coherent.
"That's my duty. I'll only make my girl smile."
His thoughts swirled, tinged with jealousy.
"How dare you... You looked cute!" he muttered.
Avyaan's eyes widened in self-realization.
"Huh? Avyaan, you're getting jealous over a keychain? Seriously, I'm not in my senses."
The liquor had taken hold, but Avyaan didn't notice.
"I should have confessed my feelings... Can't keep it now. Yes, I'll tell her now only..."
With newfound determination, Avyaan grabbed his phone and dialed Nitika's number, his fingers stumbling over the keypad.
Nitika's phone buzzed, Avyaan's name flashing on the screen. She hesitated, wondering why he was calling so late.
"Uh...Hello?" she answered, her voice cautious.
"What are you doing, Nitika?" Avyaan slurred, his words barely intelligible.
