"I have no idea what you're talking about," Rafe shrugged as he looked over at the man.

Callie wasn't actually sure whether or not he knew about the diary but it wasn't like Rafe was going to tell the man either way. Callie, however, did know about the diary, which meant she needed to start lying her ass off.

"Look, the only diary I have ever laid hands on is the one from when I was nine, and I really doubt my elementary school secrets are going to help you find any gold," Callie sighed.

Singh nodded slowly, before looking over to the girl. "But how else could you have learned that the cross was on the Royal Merchant?"

Callie shrugged, "We're pretty smart when we try. I don't know what you want me to say. Wish I could help, really, but I can't."

"I was hoping you wouldn't say that, you know. Because unfortunately, I don't believe you," he said bitterly. "You and your friend here couldn't have found the cross without it."

"Sorry, I'm just gonna interrupt real quick," Callie informed him, holding a hand up. "If you believe anything I say, let it be that he is not my friend. Okay? Literally, furthest from it, actually."

Singh turned to Rafe, still frowning, "Well, we can't all be friends, you know."

Rafe let out a sharp breath as he rose to his feet, "Look, this is ridiculous. Okay? I'm out. I don't know anything about a diary, okay? So-"

He was stopped in his tracks by a guard with a gun. Rafe, even in all his ego, knew that they wouldn't hesitate to shoot him.

"Do I look like a fool to you, Mr Cameron?" Singh asked rhetorically as he stood up. "Do I look like a fool to you? You have the cross. She and her friends had the cross at one point. So one of you has the diary."

Callie wanted to know how he knew so much. The Pogues hadn't had the cross in their possession for all that long and yet, somehow, he knew that it had traded across their hands.

When Rafe didn't respond, Singh continued. "And if you really don't know, then I suggest you convince your friend to tell me."

Rafe looked past the man to make eye contact with Callie. The girl had worked up a fairly good poker face over her lifetime - especially recently while hiding her relationship with JJ - so she didn't give him anything.

"Once I have the diary. . . you'll be free to leave," he smiled, making out as if it were an easy task.

If he seemed like a good guy, Callie might have considered it. However, he was a rich, crazy man living on a compound surrounded by guards and guns. It didn't really inspire confidence.
