THE BASEMENT.

sam and joeys house basement was THE hangout spot in highschool, it wasn't really a legit basement since you could entire it through stairs near the house but the basement was what they called it.

when they were teenagers the group and the rest of their friends would spend every day in that place sneaking beers or smoking weed.

and now sam and colby had sat in the basement with cassie, jackson and tilly with them as they talked.

"joeys birthday is coming up." cassie reminds them while sipping her soda.

sam let's out a sentence that leads them to think he already knew.

"oh shit yeah." colby had mutters loud enough for them to hear making him shake his head.

obviously he knew her birthday was in a week, he was always the first one to wish her a happy birthday.

but he likes to pretend that he doesn't know so they think he doesn't pay as much attention to the girl as he would like.

"we're inviting half the town for the surprise party in LUNDIN." sam laughs making them chuckle, lundin was the local british pub it was where everyone went to get blackout drunk or eat the best roast dinner, there was no in between.

joey lilac has done every birthday party of hers in that pub that they even have a drink named after her: tulips margarita.

"yeah it's what she would want that girl does not take her birthday as a joke." jackson informs the very well known fact.

"she doesn't let anyone ruin her day." cassie giggles as so do the rest.

"good on her honesty." tilly nods her head leaning in more into sam's arm and cassie interlock her fingers with jackson's.

colby watched both couples with a smile and for some odd reason their actions had just reminded him that joey wasn't even here.

"speaking of joey, where is she?" the brock asks with confusion.

"oh shes out with riley." cassie tells.

colby nods yet once the information has sunk into his head he yelps and he had seen the information sink into sam's head as he reacted the same.

the rest of the clueless people looked around in confusion.

"wait.. riley is 17 right?" sam asks cautiously with hope.

"uh no she just turned 18 last month." cassie stated with nerves.

"oh my god." the two boys stare at each other.

"what?" tilly asks with pure confusion.

"you let a freshly now adult go out with joey?" colby asks with prayers that it was a prank.

"well uh yeah!" cassie groans with fear now not evening knowing what was happening.

"did she bring her id with her?" sam asks.

"joey told her to bring it with her so yeah." cassie answers.

with her words sam and colby had let out oh my gods as they face planted their face into their hands.

"what? guys what?" jackson asks eyes wide.

"you do realize josephine lilac is a dangerous human alone but with someone who hasn't experienced the world as an adult she's like bin ladin!" colby exhales with drama.

"okay i think you guys are being dramatic-"

poor cassie mitchell's voice was cut incredibly short when the basement door slams open.
