Chapter Fourteen: What's got you all smiley?

The week has gonna by really slow and I hadn't talk to Tate. I felt bad in a way. I mean Tate was my best friend and I've completely ignored him. So I promised that I would try and fix things with him. I mean things would still be awkward but I wanted my friend back. I woke up that morning and got dressed and called Alex to pick me up.

"Good morning." He said with a big smile on his face.

"What's got you all smiley?" I asked.

"I am just excited for something. Oh and by the way we are hanging out." he said.

"Okay?" I said. I kept wondering what he had planned but pushed it aside for now. Finally we pulled up to the school.

"I think I'm gonna try and make up with Tate today." I said.

"That's good Charlotte." he said, as we walked into school.

"Yeah. I just hope we can work it out." I said

"I hope you two work it out. I got to go I'll meet you at the gate after school." he pecked a kiss on my lips.

"Okay." I walked off to my locker and grabbed my books. I had first period with Tate so it was the perfect opportunity to talk to him. I went and sat next to him with I could tell shocked him a little bit.

"Hi." I said.

"Are you feeling okay?" He asked me.

"Yeah I'm fine. Why?" I asked.

"Cause you're talking to me. Voluntarily." He said.

"I know. I wanted to talk to you about that. Listen Tate I've been thinking lately and your my best friend I just want to forget about this whole argument. I know I've been so rude and awful to you and-" he cut me off by saying something.

"Charlie. You shouldn't be the one who's sorry. I'm sorry I was awful to you I just hope we can go back to being friends." he said.

"Of course." I hugged him. I finally had my friend back. I just wish he would tell me the whole reason he ended whatever we were. But as long as I have Tate in my life again.

It was lunch time and I decide I would sit with Tate and Nicole again. For the past week I had been eating with Alex under a tree behind the school. But I wasn't going to ditch him so I told him to sit with us. Which was completely awkward. I walked over to the table with Alex.

"Hey. Nicole I don't think you've met Alex. Alex this is Nicole." I said intrusive them.

"Hi nice to meet you" Tate said.

"You too" she said. I sat across from Tate and Alex text to me and Nicole next to Tate.

"So how long have you known Charlotte?" Nicole asked.

"I've known her since we were kids. Three of our dads were best friends"

"Cool. And how did your dads know each other?" She asked. She had never really asked me about my personal life.

"It's lame but they were in a band together" he explained

"Really I didn't know that. What was their name called?" She giggled

"5 seconds of summer." He said

"What?!" She screeched. We all jumped at her expression.

"What is your problem?" I asked her

"Your dads are the embers of the rock band 5 seconds of summer?! Why did you not tell me this!" She said.

"I didn't think it was that important." I said.

"Your dads are the members of a rock band of course it's important!" She protested

"Oh my god. Your last name is Hemmings daughter of Luke Hemmings. Tate Hood son of Calum Hood. And Alex? What's your last name?" She asked Alex

"Irwin" he said

"Oh my gosh and Alex Irwin! I can't believe I'm friends with 5 seconds of summer's kids!" Her enthusiasm was over whelming. We had never really been recognized as being a band members daughter. When we were little it happened more but now that people kind of knew who we were it wasn't really an occurrence.

"This isn't gonna be weird right?" I asked her

"Of course I cool." she said.

"Well alright then. I'm gonna go get a water bottle from the vending machine" I said

"I'll go with you." Tate said. I got up from the table and Tate followed behind me.

"So we are cool now right?" Tate said.

"Yeah I guess. I mean we are friends again. Let's just forget about it all." I said.

"Yeah deal." with that Aidan Shaw started to walk towards us.

"Hey Tate can I talk to you for a second?" He said in a somewhat threatening way.

"Uh sure." he said. They walked over so I couldn't understand what they were saying but I could tell they were angry at each other. Then Tate gave me a quick glance. Then walked toward me again.

"Are you alright?" I asked him

"Yeah I'm fine." he said trying to convince me. But u could tell he was hiding something from me. We walked back to the table and sat back down.

"So are you gonna tell me what you have planned for after school today?" I asked Alex.

"I have no idea what you are talking about. And if I did have something planned I would not tell you." he said.

"Fine" I sighed. He just smiled at me. For the rest of lunch Tate seemed distant and not really paying attention to anything we were saying.

It was the end of the day and I was walking to my locker with Tate. He wasn't as distant now but I could tell he was uneasy.

"Do you need me to drive you home?" He asked.

"No, Alex has something planned for me so I'm hanging with him today, but you can walk with me to the gate where I'm supposed to meet him." I said

"Sure" he nodded. I grabbed my bag and walked with him to the gate. Alex leaned against his car by the gate.

"Hey. You ready for the best night of your life?" He said with a smirk on his face

"I guess but I don't one hundred percent trust you with that evil look on your face" I said

"Don't worry princess you'll have fun." he said.

"Well I should get going. I'll see you later" Tate said.

"Bye" he walked over to where his car was parked.

"Ready to go?" He asked.

"As ready as I'll ever be" I said
