Town of Mysteries (Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated x Reader)

~The Creeping Creatures~

3rd person Pov:

It was a dark and stormy night and the gang was all hanging out at Fred's house Y/n was sewing up a skirt, Daphne was reading a magazine, Shaggy was petting Scooby, Velma sat there bored, and Fred was working on a trap.

 "Oh, I am so bored, we haven't had a good mystery in I don't know when!" Velma sighed "I believe the last mystery was the slime mutant, I still have some of that ooze in my hair" Y/n sighed running her fingers through her hair. Shaggy snored a bit asleep, Daphne sighed "Fred, I think I've read every magazine in your house" She fell back onto the couch finding a hidden magazine stuffed between the cushions "Huh what's that?" 

She said once she laid eyes on it "No, don't" Fred says leaping to stop her only to hit the coffee table "Traps Illustrated? Freddy!" Y/n read standing behind Daphne "I, uh, I read it for the articles" Fred states blushing in embarrassment "In fact, it's where I got the idea for this little beauty."

 Fred states gesturing to the trap at his front door as angelic music plays in the background "Who do you expect to trap outside your front door?" Velma asked just then the doorbell rang setting off the trap a groan was heard from the victim "Let's find out" Fred responded running to the door and opening it to reveal a mailman "I got a package for, uh, Fred Jones." he says "Hey, that's me" Fred said taking the box and closing the door releasing the trap freeing the poor man to drop harshly on the ground. 

Everyone returned to the living room wondering what was in the package. "what is it?" Scooby asked "Like, um I think it's a box" Shaggy jokes. Fred and Daphne glared while Y/n laughed lightly.  Fred opens it to see a red card on a white cloth. Velma takes the card seeing who it's from "It's from Mr. E!" She gasped. 

"Saved this for a rainy day. Enjoy" Velma reads "Well that's Ironic" Y/n joked looking outside the window and watching the rain pour "Humph. Mr. E gives me the creeps" Daphne says causing Y/n to stop watching the rain and smile at her putting her hand on her shoulder. "Fred careful that could be a bomb," Y/n says seeing the blonde boy digging into the box. He pulls out a gator skin purse "Ooh, strike that. Cute purse" Daphne says seeing the accessory Velma grabs the purse and Fred sees some writing "Check it out! 100% pure gator, made in Gatorsburg." 

He says pointing to a tag "Gatorsburg?" Scooby said "But that's Impossible" Daphne started"Gatorsburg hasn't manufactured gator products in decades" Y/n finished "Not since the gator mines dried up." Velma adds "Gator mines?" Scooby said "Gatorsburg was founded back in the 1800s when a group of prospectors searching for gold struck something much more valuable,  alligator, Gatorsburg had more alligators than anywhere in the world, overnight Gatorsburg became a boomtown" Velma explains "The town became famous for its gator skin products" Y/n added "Then the gator wells ran dry, Gatorsburg became a ghost town" Velma finishes "But, like, Freddy it says it was made in Gatorsburg" Shaggy says confused.

Scooby sniffed the bag "Ooh, smells new" he said "Gang, we have a mystery on our hands" Fred said, "Oh, sweet Christmas finally!" Velma cheered and everyone eagerly leapt for the front door. when Y/n remembered the trap it was too late Daphne, Shaggy, Velma, Scooby, and Fred all got stuck Y/n laughed lightly and undid the trap before getting in the mystery machine.

"This is what happens when a civilization is founded on an entirely gator-based economy," Velma says walking up to the statue. "Alright, gang let's split up and look for clues," Fred says as he and Daphne pair up (a/n: so Velma and Y/n will usually be a pair since there's Daphne and Fred then Shaggy and Scooby) Y/n walks up to Velma and Shaggy "What do you say, Shaggy? Wanna go clue hunting with me?" Velma asked shaggy hugging his arm. Feeling as if she's intruding Y/n walks toward Scooby and investigates the statue with him "Velma! Huh! not in front of Scoob!" Shaggy grabs Velma's arms and looks toward the duo.
