POV: Celestia Riddle~~v^v~~
Samhain.
The only day in the year where dark wizards' magic is strong enough to communicate with the dead. A celebration of who lived and the time of the most deaths. The moon is the strongest, and the night is the longest. A ritual used to be held- until the ministry banned all rituals. Even the headmaster decided instead he'd be celebrating bloody muggle holidays. Samhain was replaced by what the muggles now call all hallows eve, 'Halloween'. Yule was replaced by Christmas. Ostara was replaced by Easter. Etc. none of the pure-blood families were happy that their culture had basically been overrun by mudbloods. And that's why I want to try and finish what my father started. I need to make the British wizarding world better, back into its prime. It's my purpose. It's my everything.
But other than that, today is Samhain day. Many Slytherin's, Lavender, Pavarti, and Padma were given permission by their head of house to celebrate the holiday off campus. Of course, Pavarti, Lavender, and Padma had to say they were celebrating 'Halloween' and not Samhain or McGonagall/Flitwick wouldn't have let them leave.
It was decided before then that we'd be celebrating at the Malfoys. Many other pure-blood families would be there, except Lavender's parents, since they're wrapped around Dumbledore's stupid bloody finger.
Once my group finished flooing to Malfoy manor, we were greeted by Draco's parents. Narcissa ran over and hugged Draco, while Lucius walked up to me, and we both hugged each other.
He chuckled. "Celestia, Dear. How's my favorite girl?" He asked calmly and I saw Narcissa give him a glare, both him and I laughed. "I said what I said, Cissa." He joked. She rolled her eyes, and she hugged me.
"I'm good, Uncle. I made the Quidditch team, meet the new Slytherin Seeker." I said with a sense of pride in my voice.
"That's excellent, dear. I hope Draco wasn't too upset about that." Narcissa said calmly.
"He was fine with it." I said calmly.
She looked up, and immediately ran over to Neville. "Neville dear! It's amazing to see you again. How's Opal? How's Hogwarts?" She bombarded him with questions and he just looked kind of embarrassed. "I missed you too, Auntie.." he said softly, embarrassed clear in his voice, a faint flush on his face.
"So, who are your new friends? I see you've made three that are not in Slytherin." Lucius commented, a hint of wariness in his voice. Wariness of 11 year olds, which i found hilarious, and started snickering.
"Well the ones you don't know are Pavarti and Padma Patil." The two girls waved, "These are my dorm mates: Daphne Greengrass, Pansy Parkinson, and Tracey Davis." Pansy bowed her head, while the two other girls curtsied, "This is Lavender Brown." she curtsied, "And this is Harry Potter."
"I thought Potter was a faggo-" Lucius started but was cut off by his wife.
"Lucius Abraxas Malfoy!" She yelled.
"What? I can say it! I'm one too!" He yelled back at her.
"But not in front of the children!"
"The children are fine!"
And the arguing ensued. Out of embarrassment Draco and I led everyone else to Draco's room. As you'd expect, Draco's room was huge. He had a bunch of different models of brooms displayed on his wall, he had a large bed, and desk with a bunch of Quidditch magazines spread on it. His walls had a few moving posters of famous Quidditch players. Surprisingly it was mostly made up of Chasers, and only a few Seekers.
We all first got ready for the dinner party before the Ritual- yes they're illegal. So is dark magic, but we still do it because it's part of us and these rituals are part of us too. Part of our culture. Our kind.
