He was waiting for the punch but he wasnt ready for the pain that followed.
Yonghwa's face became a blur as he hit him. He didnt fight back he just accepted it. He didnt even hold his arm up to defend himself. Right now he needed this. This kind of pain is better than the one he holds in his heart.
He was barely conscious as John assisted him and led him to the couch. Blood on the cuts on his face mingled with the tears that he has been keeping inside for so long.
He hated his sister but he hated himself more. Yonghwa was right. He is an assh*le. What kind of a brother is he anyway.
" I know youre angry but we need to find her. Its been three years. You both need to calm down. We need to plan the best strategy." Shin seems to be mighty fine in getting them to calm down and be levelheaded.
John is busy cleaning Min's face. His left eye is swollen and he has a cut on his lip. John shake his head but he didnt say anything.
He glance once to Yonghwas unreadable expression then he went back in fixing Mins face. His eyes are close and his breathing is even.
When Yonghwa stand and walk towards them he put himself between the two.
" Stop it Yong!" He push Yonghwa away from Min. " let him rest. Are you really gonna kill him? Dont you think that once Pauline found out what you did she will forgive you? She left because she loves his brother so much."
" He doesnt deserve it!" Came his heated reply.
" we know that you fool! Killing him now wont change anything." John shouted at Yonghwa and he stop. He close his eyes, clenching ang unclenching his fists at his side.
" We need to find her. She needs to go back to her family." Shins voice of reason got to them and they all sit down.
Johns cellphone suddenly lights up. His eyes squinting at the unknown number blinking back at him.
" hello..?"
" John. This is Thor. Someone wants to speak with you." The voice on the other line is calm but John knew its just a facade.
Thor has sworn to do bodily harm on him if he tries to look for his fiance a few years ago. What does the bastard wants this time?
" John?" His breath caught in his throat when he hears the soft voice. She still has the same effect on him. His hand grip his phone and he tried to speak evenly.
" Dhezzy. What do you want?"
" I-I..can you give me Yonghwa's number?" Her stutter only means shes worried. He look at Yonghwa and wondered why shes looking for him.
" I cant. Unless you tell me why." He told her.
He can hear her taking a deep breath. Probably thinking if she should tell him or not.
" I dont have all day Dhezzy." He warned.
" Its Pauline..." She voiced out and he frowned.
" You know Pauline?!" He exclaimed and he was not surprised that Yonghwa snatched the phone away from him after that outburst.
" Whose this? Where's Pauline?" Yonghwas voice is full of concern and Dhezzy bit her lip.
She knows this is the right thing to do. She wants to call Min but when she remembered how Min made Pauline miserable, she changed her mind.
She breathed a sigh of relief.
" Shes at the hospital. Cedars-Sinai. Please come."
