**Title: Unspoken Bonds: Megumi x Reader**
**Part Five**

The days at Jujutsu High passed quickly, each one filled with rigorous training, challenging lessons, and the occasional brush with danger. Y/N found herself adapting to this new life faster than she had expected. She trained relentlessly, determined to prove that she belonged here—not just to her classmates but to herself as well.

Yuji and Nobara were great friends, always keeping things lively. They often dragged her into their antics, whether it was exploring the school grounds after hours or having spirited debates about which curse was the ugliest. Y/N was glad to have them around; their enthusiasm and camaraderie made the rigorous schedule feel less daunting.

Megumi, however, remained a bit of a mystery. He wasn't unfriendly, but he wasn't exactly warm either. He was polite, helpful when needed, and occasionally, Y/N would catch a glimpse of a softer side—like when he looked after stray animals or checked up on his sister, Tsumiki, during his breaks. But for the most part, he kept his distance, watching her with that same unreadable expression.

Y/N didn't mind. She was used to people needing time to warm up to her. Besides, she could tell that Megumi was different from anyone she had ever met. He wasn't impressed by her looks or her money, and he didn't care about her Instagram following or her family's wealth. To him, she was just another student, and for the first time in her life, Y/N found that oddly refreshing.

One afternoon, after a particularly tough training session, Y/N decided to practice a bit more on her own. The others had left to grab lunch, but she stayed behind, wanting to perfect a new technique she had been working on. She focused on her cursed energy, feeling it build in her chest, then extended her hand to summon one of her shikigami. The raven appeared, its dark feathers shimmering in the sunlight, and she directed it to attack a training dummy.

The raven swooped down, its claws outstretched, but it missed the target by inches. Y/N frowned, frustrated. She had been practicing for weeks, but she still couldn't get the precision she wanted.

"Too slow," she muttered to herself, calling the raven back. "I need to be faster, more precise."

She tried again, focusing harder this time, but the result was the same. The raven missed, its attack falling just short. Y/N let out a sigh, feeling a wave of exhaustion wash over her. She was about to try again when she heard a voice behind her.

"You're focusing too much on the attack itself," Megumi said, his tone calm and measured. "You need to focus on the intent behind the attack. If you only think about hitting the target, you'll always be a step behind."

Y/N turned, surprised to see Megumi standing there. She hadn't noticed him watching her. "The intent behind the attack?" she repeated, trying to understand.

Megumi nodded, stepping closer. "Yeah. You're letting your cursed energy flow into the shikigami, but you're not guiding it. You need to visualize what you want it to do, where you want it to go. Don't just think about the attack—think about the outcome."

Y/N considered his words, then nodded. "Alright, I'll give it a try."

She closed her eyes, taking a deep breath to steady herself. She felt the cursed energy build up inside her again, but this time, she focused not just on the attack, but on the desired outcome. She visualized the raven striking the target dead center, felt the energy flow through her fingertips, and opened her eyes.

The raven shot forward, moving faster and more precisely than before. Its claws struck the training dummy dead center, tearing through it with a powerful swipe. Y/N's eyes widened in surprise and then in satisfaction.

"See?" Megumi said, a hint of approval in his voice. "It's all about focus and intent."

Y/N turned to him, a smile spreading across her face. "Thanks, Megumi. That really helped."

He shrugged, his expression neutral. "It's not a big deal. You're learning, that's all."

She watched him for a moment, noticing the way he kept his distance, the way he never quite looked her in the eyes for too long. She couldn't help but wonder what he thought of her. Did he still see her as the rich girl who didn't belong, or had she proven herself at least a little bit?

"You know," she said, breaking the silence, "I'm glad you're here. You're a good teacher."

Megumi glanced at her, his expression unreadable. "I'm not a teacher," he said flatly. "I'm just another student. I'm still learning, too."

Y/N nodded, understanding his humility. "Well, you've been a great help to me. So, thanks."

Megumi didn't respond right away. Instead, he looked away, his gaze focused on something in the distance. "Don't thank me," he said quietly. "Just keep working hard. That's all that matters."

Y/N watched him for a moment longer, then nodded. "I will," she promised.

They stood in silence for a while, neither of them quite sure what to say next. Finally, Megumi cleared his throat. "I should get going," he said, his tone a bit awkward. "The others are probably waiting for us."

"Right," Y/N agreed, feeling a strange sense of disappointment. "I'll be right behind you."

Megumi nodded and turned to leave, but he hesitated for a moment, glancing back at her. "You're... not as bad as I thought you'd be," he said, his voice quiet, almost reluctant. "You're... tolerable."

Y/N blinked, then laughed softly. "Thanks, I guess. That's high praise coming from you."

Megumi gave a small, almost imperceptible smile, then turned and walked away, leaving Y/N standing there, her heart fluttering. She watched him go, feeling a strange mix of emotions—confusion, curiosity, and something else she couldn't quite put her finger on.

He still didn't fully trust her, that much was clear. But there was a shift, a subtle change in the way he looked at her. Maybe he was starting to see her as more than just the rich girl who had stumbled into their world. Maybe he was beginning to see her as a fellow sorcerer, someone who could hold her own.

And that was enough for now.

As she turned back to the training dummy, Y/N couldn't help but smile. She was determined to prove herself, not just to Megumi, but to everyone at Jujutsu High. She had a long way to go, but she was ready for whatever lay ahead.

And who knows? Maybe, just maybe, she could get through that tough exterior of his. But that was a challenge for another day. For now, she had more training to do.
