"A what?!"
Maddie pursed her lips at the woman's tone.
They had just arrived at the Queen's mansion, with Maddie barging into the front door and announcing, "Can we host a Conjuring here?!"
Raven sighed and gave Maddie a pat on the shoulder. "Well, we tried."
The dark-haired girl was about to walk off when Reina cleared her throat.
"Not so fast," the woman said as she drew a spell circle.
Vines sprouted from the ground and wrapped themselves around Raven's feet. A dark purple glow then surrounded the vines, locking the young Queen into place.
Reina turned back to Maddie. "Now, what did you say again?"
"Can we ho-"
Cerise covered Maddie's mouth with her hand. "Can we do a Moonlight Conjuring here?"
Reina squinted at the hooded girl. "Whose plan was this?"
"M-" Raven tried to speak, but vines suddenly covered her mouth.
"Mine," Cerise said. "It was my idea."
Reina crossed her arms and tapped her foot. "And you think that I will just allow you to use my castle to do your bidding?"
Raven pulled the vines off of her mouth. "I-"
Once more, vines sprouted and covered her mouth. The young Queen crossed her arms with a huff.
Maddie bit her lip to stifle her laughter. But then she turned her gaze to Cerise and Reina, darting between the two.
"If by 'bidding' you mean as our place of interest, then... Maybe?" Cerise winced.
Maddie winced as well.
But Reina chuckled. "You're just like your mother."
Maddie and Raven exchanged glances and shrugs. Both had no clue as to what the woman was saying.
Just then, the restraints that were holding Raven in place disappeared.
"Well, I can't argue with a Hood in this generation," Reina said, a hint of amusement in her tone. "Yes, you may hold your Conjuring here."
The three girls sighed in relief at the approval.
"However," Reina spoke up, taking their attention once more. "I still don't appreciate you running off and doing work while I'm unconscious." She shot a pointed look at her daughter.
Raven crossed her arms once again and rolled her eyes at her mother. "Why? It's not like you care."
It was now Maddie and Cerise's turn to exchange glances.
"Raven..." Reina spoke, reaching out for her daughter.
"No," the young Queen interrupted. "I don't want to hear it." She turned to Maddie and Cerise. "I'll be in my room if you want to discuss the plan for tonight."
With that, the dark-haired teen walked off, stomping her way up the stairs.
"I'm sorry, Reina," Maddie said as soon as Raven was out of sight. "I knew I should've stopped her earlier before-"
Reina just waved it off, a frown appearing on her face. "It's alright, Maddie. You girls just go have fun tonight."
Maddie and Cerise nodded.
"Um... Do you want to-" Maddie tried to extend an invite.
"Goodness Grimm, no," Reina interrupted. "Conjurings are beneath me. Besides, I'm going out tonight." The woman visibly shuddered.
