"I'm sorry but... who are you?" the girl asked.
She had fair skin, and purple eyes. Her hair was black and had a couple of maroon and purple streaks. And she was wearing a black shirt topped with a purple vest, a pair of black jeans, and a pair of purple combat boots. She also had a silver headband on her head and a light dusting of light makeup on.
What surprised Maddie was the fact that the girl looked like a younger version of Reina.
Also, the girl's ears seemed to be elongated and flushed red. It looked like she had elf ears.
"Oh!" Maddie exclaimed. "I-I'm Madeline Anderson. But you can call me Maddie." She smiled. "And you are...?"
"Raven, Raven Queen," the black haired girl responded.
"Ooh! Like the bird?"
"Yeah, like the bird," Raven confirmed. "And I'm surprised to see a human in our humble abode."
Maddie snickered at the sarcasm in Raven's tone.
"Why are you here?" Raven asked. "Aren't you afraid that the Evil Queen would make you disappear? Permanently?"
"Oh no," Maddie chuckled. "I'm not afraid of Reina, she seems nice."
"'Seems' being the key word there," Raven pointed out, crossing her arms.
"Well, she kinda acts scary. But I've only known her for a few hours. And knows that she had cursed Wonderland in... I don't know when," Maddie continued. "And as for why I'm here... It's kind of a long story..." Maddie chuckled nervously, scratching the back of her head.
Raven stepped towards her. "Well I'm listening," she said. "It's not everyday I get to meet someone without making them run off, because I'm the daughter of the most wanted villain in the land."
Maddie abruptly put her hand down as she gasped in shock. "You're the daughter of the Evil Queen?!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with enthusiasm.
Raven only nodded as she sat down on the bed.
"That's so cool!" Maddie exclaimed, getting a confused look from Raven. "I mean, being the child of a fairytale character is cool. The wanted villain thing can never be cool."
Raven let out a chuckle. "Actually, it is not. But if I were the daughter of some other character, I think I would be glad. And being wanted in any world will never be cool."
"Are those really your ears?" Maddie pointed out.
"Oh, these?" Raven asked, pointing at her ears. "I stepped on some plant earlier on my way back that made them look like these. But don't worry, it's not contagious. So the story?" She then patted at the empty space to her left.
Maddie sat down and began to tell her tale about how and why she got there. She didn't care about the fact that she's practically blurting it to a stranger like Raven.
When someone's willing to listen to Maddie, she jumps to it. She jumps to it, even if she's not sure if she can trust the person. An effect of being someone ignored by others for so long.
Besides, it's not like she will share a secret when she's just telling a story of how she had stumbled into a door that leads to this supposed imaginary world.
When Maddie finished her tale, she had somehow ended up walking on the ceiling, shoeless of course. Much to Raven's surprise.
"Oops!" Maddie exclaimed as she jumped back down in a backflip. "I forgot I could do that."
"How did you do that?" Raven asked, her eyes wide. Her ears now looked normal-ish - shorter like the normal ear size and in their natural color... but still pointy.
