AND I DO NOT OWN WINGS OF FIRE

(Y/n) pov

The flight to the rainforest hadn't been the best, the open cuts on your shoulders made every flap of your wind painful but only having one working eye also added to the difficulty of making sure you didn't bump into anything. The awkward silence from the group of you had given you enough time to have your heart crushed over and over again at the reminder that your family and the dragon you had loved with all your heart was just an enchantment.

Moon flew up besides you and stayed silent for a bit before talking, "How did you sense me reading your mind on the first day of school?" You turned to look at her, and recalled the memory of a creeping feeling in your mind, "Uhh I didn't really know what it was, I just felt something- or you I guess in there," you paused, "it was like an instinct I guess?"

You looked over to Moon who nodded, "You should change your bandages when we land," you hummed to her in agreement. The bandages that was wrapped around your leg was long gone and the ones around your shoulders and eye were falling off and soaked in water.

When the grassy floor beneath you had became the thick green canopy, the rest of the flight was silent but when you guys landed Winter was the first to complain about something, "Gross, how could anyone choose to live in a place like this."

You had to admit he was right, the humid temperature made you feel as if you couldn't breath, the mud on the floor stuck in between the webs on your claws and was all over your talons, but the worst part about it was the claustrophobic feeling of the thick trees all over. You saw Qibli reach for a fruit but Moon stopped him before he could grab it, "Don't eat that, you'll get hiccups for days. Also some really weird dreams, for a while I thought I was having of futures where newts and anteaters took over the world."

You giggled at her words and so did Kinkajou, Qibli had been laughing too but when you turned to Winter he narrowed his eyes at you and turned away.

"Here try these," Moon said cutting up a strange looking fruit, the outside was pink and had green tips but the inside was white with little black dots. She passed a bit to Qibli who immediately ate it, before passing some to you and Winter. You took the fruit from her black talons and sniffed at it, but Winter wrinkled his snout and told her he would find something else to eat, when you finally ate the fruit it had tasted delicious. "What kind of fruit is this it's sooo good," you asked Moon.

"It's called a dragon fruit," she replied to you taking a bit of the fruit as well, "Oh no is this considered cannibalism?" You said clutching your head jokingly, your joke pulled laughs from the whole group obviously excluding Winter.

A crash rang out and you saw a red dragon on top of Winter hissing, 'Three moons it's Scarlet and she's come back to kill us all!' Your mind kept telling you but part of you knew it couldn't have been her she was far more bigger than that dragon. The dragon got off Winter and jumped up onto a branch and held a little furry creature close to their chest, but Winter stood up and roared in anger.

"Calm down," Qibli said to Winter but he lashed his claws at the SandWing, luckily Qibli quickly dogged Winters claws, "Winter! Relax!"

"But there was a SkyWing! It attacked me and took my prey then it dissape- OH SEAL GUTS!" Winter was fuming and lashed his tail, "Come out you prey stealer!"

The RainWing appeared from a branch above, it's red scales contrasting the vibrant green of the rainforest. "Toe-Fur is nobody's lunch," the RainWing said angrily, "It's bad enough that the NightWings have eaten one of my sloths, I will not lose another," the RainWing said, their red scales growing more darker with hints of black.

"Sorry Exquisite, Winter doesn't know we aren't allowed to eat sloths," Kinkajou apologized to the angry dragon, Exquisite looked down at the group of you then disappeared again. "Who names a sloth," Winter said while rolling his eyes, "Well sloths are their pets," you told him, "didn't you name your scavenger Bandit?"

Your sentence caused Qibli to snicker but he quickly stopped when Winter sent a deadly glare his way. You lifted your (s/c) claws up, they where muddy and felt sticky along with your scales who had speckles of mud on them, your tail had also been dragged through the mud while you guys walked, three moons you couldn't wait to go back to the Ice Kingdom. Oh, the Ice Kingdom how you missed it, the cold fluffy snow and the freezing cold wind. You did not miss the dragons though or the circle rankings although you were proud you had been moved up to the first circle even if you were in the middle of the chart.

"Why don't we go to the NightWing village, it is close by," Kinkajou said but she gave you no time to reply before enthusiastically saying, "Come one," and swiftly moving through the trees and vines of the forest. Kinkajou was moving quite fast and you struggled to keep up but still you kept pushing, you were an IceWing, you are a warrior you could let some branches get in the way. But the other dragons moving swiftly out of your sight caused you to panic and the closeness of all the vines and trees did not help the claustrophobic feeling, you began to gasp for air feeling your throat close and your chest tighten. You pulled through still panicked but you slightly felt calmer when you fell behind the other dragons, you took a step forward and a spiky vine caught on your arm piercing the skin causing you to let out a yelp of pain, the other dragons turned to you, "Are you ok?" Qibli asked first before Moon and Kinkajou followed shortly Winter on the other hand just stared, "Yeah, I'm fine I just got poked by a vine," you reassured, the cut had already began to leak (b/c) blood.

"We're here!" Kinkajou announced happily before walking through a thick growth of what seemed to be bushes, one by one you and the other dragons made it through, you being the last. The bright hot sun shined down onto the clearing blinding your eyes for just a moment before they adjusted, but when you looked around a gasp was pulled from you and you let out the breath you didn't even notice you were holding. Now you could see the beauty of the rainforest, the bright healthy trees, the air was fresh, but the most beautiful part were the colorful birds that hopped from tree to tree.

Maybe you could get used to being around other tribes.
