In the following weeks, newspapers were spreading the rumor that George Taylor had been shot and killed. In reality, he was in the hospital, alive, though he hadn't woken up. On a sunny autumn day, Natalie walked through the halls of the hospital and into George's room, where he lay sleeping peacefully. She sat beside him and grabbed his hand, squeezing slightly. Natalie had been there every day, just talking to him as he slept peacefully. She would tell him how her pregnancy was going, how she missed him at home, and how much she loved him. She only told him the positive things. She left out the negatives in case he could hear her. Natalie refused to talk about how the police hadn't found Morgan. George had been in the hospital for a month, and the police had nothing to find her somehow. Natalie often wondered if Morgan was even still alive. People were outraged when they heard of the shooting. Some wanted revenge against Morgan. At the gate of George's house, multiple fans would come and lay bouquets of flowers for him when he would get out of the hospital. As Natalie sat and talked, George's hand squeezed Natalie's slightly, making her stop what she was doing and look at him.

In the darkness, there was a light growing brighter, and George could hear the voice of Natalie calling for him. As the light grew brighter, his eyes slowly opened. As he adjusted to his surroundings, he saw people on either side of him. When George's vision became clearer, he saw a doctor and Natalie. "Where am I?" George asked groggly. "The hospital. You were shot, remember?" Natalie asked. "Right," George said, remembering what happened. As Natalie leaned over to kiss him, pain coursed through his shoulder. As he screamed in pain, the doctor injected something into his IV that made the pain ease, and George relaxed. "What the hell was that?" Natalie asked worriedly, turning to the doctor. "When he was shot, he suffered some nerve damage. He'll need to have a morphine patch every 12 hours," the doctor explained. Natalie nodded and kissed George.
