The next two weeks were very busy for the two as they made plans for their wedding and made the announcements about the pregnancy and wedding. George had been nervous, casting this kind of attention on his private life, but as his mom had said when he was younger, once you're rich and famous, you no longer have a private life. With Natalie by his side, he didn't worry much. He was safe and had support to spare. On the day of the engagement party, Lucy, George, and Joy and Rick, Natalie's parents, began decorating Natalie's parents' house with flowers, banners, and ribbons. Joy was a sweet woman who was fifty years old but looked forty. She had shoulder-length brown hair that was slightly gray at the roots and was dressed casually in a red t-shirt and leggings. Joy stood by Natalie's step-dad, who was standing on a step stool, hammering nails into a banner. He had been around Natalie almost her entire life since she was just two months old. He worked in the oil fields and was fifty-two. He was a big but very kind man who had an even bigger heart. Rick had short and silver hair and a fully gray mustache. He wore a brown t-shirt with Levi jeans and work boots. Rick reached down and grabbed the nail Joy handed him and hammered it in. George stood back and admired it. Lucy walked up beside him and placed a hand on his shoulder. "What do you think?" She asked, looking at the banner. "I think she'll love it!" George said excitedly. As they continued decorating, Whitney, Roxanne, and Natalie walked in. Roxanne eyed the set-up and turned to look at Natalie. "It looks like a Barbie doll threw up in here," she said. Natalie giggled slightly. "Well, I love it," she said before kissing George's cheek. "Just think about it. In a few weeks, we're getting married!" She said excitedly. "The service will be outside in the backyard, and the dance will be inside," Joy explained, pulling Natalie over. "Sounds good to me!" said Natalie. George and Natalie both couldn't help but feel excitement about the future. Not a day went by where she wouldn't think about how the future would look. With a wedding soon and a baby not too far behind, things were the best they'd ever been. Would they stay that way? She sure hoped so, but sometimes fate has other plans.
