**TRIGGER WARNING**
It was October, my favorite month for many reasons.
My birthday, fall, and my birthday.
Cody and i have been much better now that we communicate and we have found our peace.
"Something smells good." I hummed, walking down the stairs. Remi following me.
"Muffins!" Iris replied, taking a pan out the oven.
"One day you need to open your own shop." I laughed.
I walked towards my little brother's playpen.
I watched him crawl around in it.
Iris walked over to me and we both watched him.
He was so stinking cute.
"You girls are so obsessed with him." My stepdad said from the couch.
"Ezra is going to get tired of you guys soon enough" He laughed.
"Never." Sage said while making a silly face at him.
"I should get going." I said, picking up my keys.
"Don't forget to take these." Iris handed me a container with 8 muffins.
"You're the best." I hugged her.
I made my way over to Cody's dad's house, and got out the car.
It was still hard to drive but i was getting through it.
I made my way into his house with my key.
"Knocking is a thing you know? Cody's dad said from the kitchen.
He was drinking.
"Sorry, i just thought you were at work and i-."
He cut me off by slamming his fist on the counter.
"Get out of my house!" He yelled.
"Dad stop." Gigi said harshly.
He stared at her.
"Dad.." She looked at me then him.
He rolled his eyes at her then disappeared upstairs.
"Sorry about that." She said, rubbing her head.
"It's okay." I replied.
I heard yelling from upstairs.
"He's been like this since the divorce, and now he's seeing someone and it's gotten worse."
"Oh, i didn't know, Cody never told me."
She rolled her eyes at me. "You were never around for him to tell you."
"He broke up with me!" I argued.
"I needed you, you were like an older sister to me and you were just gone."
"I'm so sorry. But you could have called or text." I titled my head.
The yelling from upstairs stopped.
"Ready?" Cody asked, jogging down the steps.
I nodded as he went to slip on his shoes.
"Call me or text me. I don't care how late it is okay?" I smiled at Gigi.
"Okay fine." She rolled her eyes. "Thanks."
"Anytime." I said, before disappearing outside.
"Thank you." He kissed my forehead as he closed my door.
