Chapter 19

Sage and Ryan dating was something i was learning to live with now.

Or at least i was trying to.

Anyway there's one week before my birthday and i needed to be positive.

Ding.

"Look outside." A text from Cody said.

I ran out of my room and down the stairs and opened the door.

"WAAA"

I just woke up my baby brother.

"LONDON." My mother yelled from upstairs.

I opened the door to see pink peony's wrapped in brown paper and a note.

There was also a small box beside it.

I picked it up and went inside.

"Those are nice." My father smiled at me while fixing his collar.

He was dressed in his suit. Probably going to take a case.

"It's from Cody." I replied, placing it down on the counter.

"Where are you going i asked."

"I'm going out of town for a couple of days, i have this really important case and i cannot miss it." Hs added.

"Will you be home for my birthday?" I asked.

"Oh, baby I'm sorry. But i'll make it up to you." He smiled at me.

He was a great stepfather, he was always there for me, he took care of me like i was his own he loved me. But he never missed any of my big events.

Something was up, i don't know what but something was definitely up.

"Oh okay, it's fine dad." I smiled back.

"I could reschedule this whole thing." He shrugged.

"Just say the word and i'll be singing you happy birthday in 7 days."

I really wanted him to be here but he loved his job, and the reason why i am going to have a good birthday is because of his job.

"No dad its fine i promise." I hugged him.

He kissed my forehead. "Okay, i'll see you later."

He grabbed his briefcase and headed out the door.

When he left i examined the box.

I moved my hand over it and removed the top.

Before i could see what was inside my mom came downstairs holding my phone and i quickly slammed it close.

"It keeps ringing." She handed it to me.

I saw 3 missed video calls from Cody.

"Thank you." I smiled at her.

"Please, London if you go on the phone be a bit quieter i just put your brother for a nap and i need some sleep." She looked at me before walking back upstairs.
