I could hear everything around me but i couldn't see.
Maybe i needed to open my eyes.
I blinked open my eyes and examined the room.
I was in the hospital, the machines were beeping extra loud, i was hooked up to an IV, there was EKG stickers on me, and my arm was getting crushed by my blood pressure getting taken.
"You're awake." My mom rushed to the side of my bed.
"Go get the doctor." She told Iris.
"What happened..?" I murmured.
"You collapsed, and hit your head pretty hard." She replied while stroking my hair.
"London! Great you're awake." The doctor exclaimed.
I glanced at my mother then the doctor.
Iris was standing beside her.
"My name is Maria and i'm the doctor who's been taking care of you for the past 5 hours." She introduced herself.
5?
"Can you tell me your name?" She asked.
"London." I mumbled.
"What's today's date?" She asked.
Idk leave me alone.
"I.. i don't know." I replied.
She glanced at her watch then back at me.
She walked closer to me.
"Did you know that the human brain weighs 3 pounds?" She asked.
Um.
I shrugged.
"How many fingers am i holding up?" She asked holding up 4 fingers.
"4." I gulped.
"Good now follow my finger with your eyes."
I did as she said.
"And one more thing. Repeat the fact i told you earlier."
"You didn't tell me one." I said, confused.
She nodded before exchanging glances with my mom.
"It seems to appear that you have a concussion, which was probably caused by you falling and hitting your head." Doctor Maria explained.
"But why did i fall?" I asked.
"There could be many reasons to that, and i'd love to do some more test to be sure, but you're severely dehydrated." She stated.
"So what's next?" My mom asked.
"I'll like to take some blood work, and get her an MRI just to make sure everything looks okay and keep her overnight just to get her hydrated." She said.
"Okay, does that sound good London?" My mom asked me.
Being in the hospital 6 days before my birthday does not sound good.
I nodded, rubbing my temples.
My head feels like it's going to explode.
"A nurse should be in shortly to take some blood, then the imaging team will come get to you and bring you upstairs. Sounds good?" The doctor smiled at me.
"I guess." I replied.
"Good, if you need anything there's a call button on your left. All visitors under the age of 18 have to leave by 8:00pm, they'll be able to come back at 9am. Assuming your sister here is under the legal age." She explained.
