Fox starts noticing Rikka's interest in him and begins to consider her as more than just a friend. Yanna's jealousy turns into heartache as she watches from the sidelines.
Rikka: "I like spending time with you, Fox. You're different from other guys."
Fox: smiling "You're not so bad yourself, Rikka."
Yanna stood frozen in place, her heart racing as she overheard Rikka's words. The way Fox smiled at her, genuinely and openly, felt like a knife twisting in her gut.
Yanna: overhearing, feeling a pang of pain "I... I have to go." Yanna muttered, forcing the words out before she turned away, her voice barely above a whisper.
She hurried down the hallway, her mind racing. Every step felt heavy, each one echoing the realization that she was losing Fox to someone who seemed so effortlessly charming.
As she reached the nearest bathroom, Yanna pushed the door open and leaned against the cool tiles, trying to steady her breathing. The reality of her feelings crashed over her like a wave, dragging her down into uncertainty.
"Why do I feel this way?" she whispered to herself, staring at her reflection. "I told myself it was just fun. I can't fall for him. I can't."
But the truth was undeniable. Watching Rikka flirt with Fox had ignited a fire of jealousy within her that she couldn't extinguish. Every laugh shared between them, every glance that lingered too long, felt like a reminder of what she could lose.
Yanna closed her eyes, her heart aching. She had pushed her feelings down for so long, convincing herself that it was just a casual arrangement. But now, that facade was crumbling. The thought of Fox being with Rikka made her feel vulnerable, and she hated it.
Meanwhile, Fox and Rikka continued their conversation, completely unaware of Yanna's turmoil.
"I really like spending time with you, Fox. You're different from other guys," Rikka said, her voice warm and inviting.
Fox chuckled, the sound genuine. "You're not so bad yourself, Rikka."
Their laughter echoed in Yanna's mind, amplifying her heartache. She had always thought of herself as strong, someone who could keep emotions at bay, but Rikka's presence was testing her resolve.
As Yanna stood there in the bathroom, she made a decision. She couldn't let this continue. She had to confront her feelings and decide what she truly wanted.
After a few deep breaths, she splashed water on her face, determined to reclaim some semblance of control. She knew she had to talk to Fox, but how could she express everything she felt without risking their friendship?
When she finally emerged from the bathroom, Yanna was met with the sight of Fox and Rikka sitting close together, laughing over something that had just been said. It was the perfect image of what Yanna feared: a connection that she yearned for but felt she could never have.
With a heavy heart, Yanna walked past them, her resolve wavering. But as she glanced back, she caught Fox's eye, and for a brief moment, their gazes locked.
"Yanna!" he called, a hint of concern creeping into his voice.
She paused but didn't turn back. The truth hung heavily on her tongue, but she pushed it down once more.
"I'll catch you later!" she called back, forcing a smile before walking away, the weight of her unspoken feelings pressing down on her shoulders.
That moment became a turning point for Yanna. She knew she had to make a choice: either to step forward and risk everything or to step back and let the opportunity slip away.
