As Fox's internship began, the reality of the long-distance relationship set in. Days turned into weeks, and the time difference between their locations became a constant reminder of how far apart they were. Still, both Fox and Yanna were determined to make it work. Their late-night calls and sweet messages became the lifeline that kept them connected.
Fox lay on his bed after a long day at work, the glow of his phone screen illuminating his tired face. He clicked Yanna's name and waited for her to pick up. When she did, her voice immediately softened the tension in his body.
Fox: "I miss you so much, Yanna."
Yanna smiled on the other end of the line, sitting on her bed, twirling a strand of her hair.
Yanna: "I miss you too, Fox. But this is just temporary, remember? We'll be together soon."
Fox sighed, feeling the weight of the distance between them.
Fox: "Yeah, I know. It's just hard not seeing you every day."
Yanna: "I get it. It's hard for me too. But we're strong enough to handle this. Think of it as a test for us."
Fox chuckled softly.
Fox: "You and your positivity. I don't know what I'd do without you."
Yanna: "You won't have to find out because I'm not going anywhere."
As the weeks went on, the separation grew more challenging. There were times when they both felt the strain—missed calls, messages left unanswered for hours due to their busy schedules. But Fox and Yanna made it a point to talk every night, no matter how exhausted they were.
One evening, after a particularly long day at work, Fox called Yanna just to hear her voice.
Fox: "Today was brutal. All I could think about was seeing you. I'm counting down the days."
Yanna laughed, her voice soothing him.
Yanna: "I'm counting too. I've already planned out the first few days when you get back. I hope you're ready for non-stop Yanna time."
Fox smiled, the thought of seeing her filling him with excitement.
Fox: "I wouldn't have it any other way."
Even though the distance was hard, moments like this reminded them why they were worth fighting for. Their love remained strong, even miles apart.
However, just as things seemed to be stabilizing between Fox and Yanna, Rikka seized the opportunity to interfere once more. She knew Fox was far from Yanna and saw the cracks forming in their long-distance relationship. Rikka started messaging Fox, under the pretense of "checking up" on him.
Rikka: "Hey, I heard about your internship. How's it going?"
Fox hesitated for a moment before replying. He knew engaging with Rikka was dangerous, but a part of him wanted to keep things civil. After all, she had been a part of his life at some point.
Fox: "It's going well. Thanks for asking."
Rikka: "It must be tough doing long distance. You must miss having someone around."
Fox's grip tightened on his phone. He knew what Rikka was doing, and he refused to fall into her trap again. His loyalty to Yanna was unwavering.
Fox: "Yeah, it's tough, but Yanna and I are solid."
Rikka: "If you ever need someone to talk to, I'm here, Fox. I know what you're going through."
Fox's jaw clenched. He sent a brief response and left it at that, determined not to let Rikka disrupt what he and Yanna had worked so hard to build.
