Bought matching diamonds for six of my bitches

I'd rather spoil all my friends with my riches

Think retail therapy my new addiction

Whoever said money can't solve your problems

Must not have had enough money to solve 'em

❤︎ Ethan was gone (getting an education), Nico was gone (doing Ares knows what), and Percy was gone (doing homework).

Helena was alone and bored.

See, the thing about being a fucking genius and an overthinker is that you tend to dread what could happen if you didn't stick to your carefully thought-out life plan.

Helena was right on track with hers.

Have a secure place to live? Done, thanks to her father.

Secure a place at university by eighteen? Done, thanks to her super sexy, and talented self.

Don't die because some lousy Greek monster decided to wake up on the wrong side of the bed that day? Done, once again, thanks to her father and Percy's slightly overprotective nature.

Being amazing, awesome, and just overall hot as fuck coupled with thoughts of impending doom if she didn't do things on time left her with a lot of free time. Free time which she in recent times would use to help Nico hunt down answers about his mother.

Nico would bring her documents that were always labelled classified over it, Helena would chastise him for being too reckless and breaking and entering (without her), and she would force him to sit down and eat before he disappeared into shadows again.

She went through all the files he had brought her on his weekly visit last week already. The dead skeleton in one didn't have the right skull shape and in another, it was too short or tall.

She was internally musing whether or not to call Nico and tell him to grow a pair and ask his father, Hades, about it when a knock on her apartment door interrupted her.

There goes her very fun plans of a 35-second call with Nico and doing nothing all day.

She gets up from the floor where she had been sitting, stands, and immediately regrets it when sharp pain travels down her leg.

Helena groans and punches her leg trying to get the pain to stop. It works, for a second, now she has pins and needles.

"The world hates me."

The knock sounds at her door again.

"Has no one taught you patience?" she calls out.

The knocking stops before doubling.

Helena takes a deep breath.

"Murder will compromise your position at NorthWestern. No killing until the war that Dad promised is here. I am a law-abiding citizen," her gaze falls onto the classified documents and case files all over her floor. "I am a semi-law-abiding citizen."

The pins and needles in her leg finally die down and she moves to open the door. Helena all but throws it open. Unfortunately, Helena's timing was off and the fist that was supposed to knock on her door made contact with her face.
