⚔ Ethan can count on the fingers of one hand the number of times he has been scared in his life.
One, when his father had died. Two, when he saw and fought his first monster. Three, when he had heard of Kronos's uprising. Fourth, when he had gone into the labyrinth to join the Titan army.
Five, when he saw his sister collapse in battle.
Helena had never gotten that injured in battle before. Sure, she had her scars and bruises, but any injuries she received in battle healed within minutes or hours of gaining them. Her father's blessing made it almost impossible for her to get hurt in the first place. She could feel any weapon around her; she could see a person's attack before they even made it, so when she collapsed when Levi stabbed her, he was scared.
Seeing her so visibly distressed because of an injury had truly scared him, and he was just glad Nico wasn't here to see it as well.
He had woken up from a much-needed nap not too long ago and had been staring out the window until he heard a knock on his door.
"Hey," Percy greeted. "You sleep?"
Ethan nods.
"Good. Look, I have to go. Do you want to stay with Elle?"
Ethan's eyebrows furrow. "You leaving?"
Percy lets out a heavy exhale and runs his hand through his hair.
"Helena's sleeping, and the Titans want to talk under a flag of truce. A parley."
"Bitch, do we look like Jack Sparrow?"
Percy chuckles. "You staying?"
"She's sleeping?" Ethan asks. Percy nods. "I'll come with you."
"You sure?"
Ethan stands and stretches. "Nothing else for me to do. I'll bother Hels when she wakes up."
Percy smiles and holds the door open for him. "Let's go annoy some Titans, kiddo."
Ethan tightens the straps of his chest plate and smirks.
They better hope he isn't there.

He was there.
Ethan felt his eye twitch as he saw him. They had seen the white flag from half a mile away. It was as big as a football field, carried by a ten-metre-tall giant with bright blue skin and icy grey hair.
"A hyperborean," Thalia said. "The giants of the north. It's a bad sign that they sided with Kronos. They're usually peaceful."
"You've met them?" Percy asked.
"Mmm. There's a big colony in Alberta. You do not want to get into a snowball fight with those guys."
As the giant got closer, they could see three human-sized envoys with him—a half-blood in armour, an empousa demon with flaming hair in a black dress and a tall man in a tuxedo. The empousa held the tux dude's arm, so they looked like a couple on their way to a Broadway show or something—except for her flaming hair and fangs.
