Sandra’s POV
I led us back the way we came, desperately hoping to find Y/N. My mind raced with fears I didn't want to fully confront. I tried to push away the thought of what might have happened to her. It was almost too unbearable to consider.
A small sliver of relief washed over me as we traced our steps and found no blood or body. Yet, that relief was fleeting. We still hadn't found Y/N, so even if there was no hint at her being dead, it didn't mean she was safe. And Freddy was also nowhere in sight either.
Maybe he had found Y/N. I could only hope, prayed even that it was he who found her.
“What if they got her…” Moira whispered, her voice trembling with worry.
“No, she’s fine… she has to be,” I whispered, more to myself than to her. Y/N was a friend, almost like a sister. If anything happened to her under my watch, I’d never forgive myself.
“Do you think Freddy’s okay?” Moira’s voice was barely more than a breath.
“He’s a tough robot; I’m sure he’s fine,” I said, though doubt gnawed at me. Roxy could be merciless, and if Freddy had crossed paths with her… well, I wasn’t entirely convinced he was unscathed.
The neon lights cast harsh, artificial brightness over everything, but I’d never felt so uneasy. The cheerfulness of the lights contrasted sharply with the dread that weighed on my heart.
“Wait, Sandra, do you hear that?” Moira’s voice cut through my thoughts as she grabbed my arm.
We froze, straining to hear the faint sound of metal footsteps approaching. I gripped the gun tightly, bracing myself for whatever was coming.
“Sandra! Moira! Oh my god, I’ve been looking for you two everywhere!” Freddy’s voice echoed with relief, and his figure came into view, bathed in the harsh glow of the overhead lights.
“Freddy! I’m so glad you’re okay!” Moira rushed forward and enveloped him in a tight hug.
Freddy, looking slightly puzzled, hugged her back awkwardly. “Uh, thanks…”
His gaze shifted to the gun in my hand, and he raised an eyebrow. “IYou fired the gun?”
“Where’s Y/N?” I interrupted, my voice sharp with urgency.
“Oh! She’s safe. I left her in a room,” Freddy said, his frown deepening. “You should’ve warned me how serious her injury was. She might have a concussion.”
A wave of guilt crashed over me. Had I even considered the severity of her condition?
“Well, take us to her!” I demanded, unable to mask my anxiety.
Freddy nodded and led us through the maze of hallways to Y/N’s location.
When we reached the room, Freddy opened the door, but it was empty.
“What the hell? I thought you said she was here!” I snapped at Freddy, frustration boiling over.
“She was… I don’t understand why she left,” Freddy said, confusion evident in his voice. “She must have left while I was looking for you two.”
“Why would she do that?” Moira asked, her voice tinged with concern.
“She couldn’t have gone far—we have to find her,” I said, my determination flaring. I rushed back out of the room, not waiting for them to catch up.
I was exhausted from the constant searching, frustration simmering beneath my surface. We searched the pizza kitchen, a place that seemed pointless but was worth checking. I walked past a hunk of scrap metal when something caught my eye.
