**Beep**

**Beep**

**Beep**

The sound was grating, and you groaned mentally, trying to drown it out. What was beeping so loudly? You didn't want to wake up yet. But the noise persisted, relentless, and sleep refused to return.

Reluctantly, you opened your eyes, squinting at the blinding white lights overhead. It took a moment for your vision to adjust before you could make out your surroundings.

This wasn’t your room…

No—

You were in a hospital room.

Your brow furrowed in thought. Why were you in the hospital?

Before you could ponder further, the door to your room clicked open, and your mom walked in. Her eyes widened as she noticed you were awake, gasping in relief. “Y/N, oh my god, baby, let me get the nurse!”

Your throat felt dry, and your body ached all over. You tried to sit up just as your mom and the nurse hurried back into the room.

“Whoa, don’t move too quickly now!” the nurse said, rushing over to gently push you back down. “Ma'am, why don’t you go get her some ice while I check her levels?”

Your mom nodded frantically and scurried off, leaving you alone with the nurse, who began checking your vitals, shining a light in your eyes, and testing your responses.

“Do you remember your name?” she asked, her tone professional but kind.

You nodded, confused as to why she would ask.

“Do you remember your birthday?”

Of course, you did. You nodded again, a bit more firmly this time.

“Can you talk, sweetie?”

“...Yeah,” you rasped, your voice hoarse and weak.

“Good, good. Now, do you remember why you’re here?”

“Uhm…” You struggled to think back, images flashing through your mind—neon lights, a cat, a woman who looked like a bunny… blood. The memories, though blurred and fragmented, were there.

“Yes, there was an accident at… the Pizzaplex.” Panic surged through you as you hurried to sit up, worry crashing over you like a tidal wave. Where were Sandra and Moira—and Monty? Were they okay? Was the Pizzaplex okay?

“Hey, hey, calm down. You’re safe now,” the nurse tried to reassure you, but the fear gnawing at your insides wouldn't let you rest.

“Where are my friends?” you asked frantically, as the nurse gently but firmly pinned you back onto the bed.

Just then, your mom walked into the room, carrying a cup of ice.

“What’s wrong?” she asked, hurrying to your side, concern etched across her face.

“Where are my friends? What happened to the Pizzaplex?”

“Oh sweetie, it’s okay. The Pizzaplex is fine, and Moira and Luke are okay too,” your mom assured you as the nurse continued to check your vitals.

“Luke…?” You furrowed your brows, confusion clouding your thoughts.

Luke wasn’t there…

“What happened?” you demanded, the urgency in your voice unmistakable.

“Honey, why don’t you eat some ice first? I’m sure your throat must be dry.”

“No, tell me what happened!” you insisted, refusing to be placated.
